Position and Hold Clearence's Not Auihorized come September

The only answer for the runway problem is more concrete. Lots more. Wouldn't it be great to taxi AROUND a runway? BTW, Lrjtcapt, did you see a copy of the FAA letter to the guy in N90? Not good.

    Restricted area in vfr route?

Just miss it. But be sure you miss it.

Is ATL the last hub the holds for intrail?

There's gonna be a phase two? Where is that quote from in your sig?

IFR plates: city name rather than Airport name

Most controllers are very cool about this sort of thing. They would give you the name of the city, but most of them don't even know how plates are organized. I have even 'verified' the localizer freq for people. I know what was going on, so do most of you, but what am I gonna do? Drive out...

IFR plates: city name rather than Airport name

Let's say KNEW only has non precision approaches due to equipment problems. You go missed, wouldn't it be nice to stay within a few pages and find the approaches for Moissant? or Louis Armstrong, whatever we call it now. Now, worst case scenario, someone fairly inexperienced goes missed of...

Pilot Missing After Shuttle No-Fly Zone Incursion

I agree with the previous posts. Land, run and act surprised. Admit nothing. Would be very difficult to prove. Anyone know which a/p it was? Creek?

Is ATL the last hub the holds for intrail?

Yeah, we have intrail reaching way the hell out there, but it only takes one emergency to shut down a runway or worse have someone whisper the dread windshear word. As far as URET, we don't have it yet, so I have no comment. Should get here in the next few months.

Is ATL the last hub the holds for intrail?

I guess it depends on the arrival your inbound on. We hold on the sinca every day seems like. Macey rarely holds. Of course they have 3 times the volume on that arrival too.

Is ATL the last hub the holds for intrail?

We were talking at work today about the amount of hold we do in Atlanta. Someone said we are the last of the busy facilities that goes to holding several times every day. That Houston, Chicago and all the northeast airports don't hold at all, unless the airport get shut down for some reason or...

Doesn't polar have a few 10s? Or is it all 74s?

How long with Northwest fly the DC-9s?

I bought my job. Paid for all my own training.

    I need some suggestions...ASAP please!

Also try to explain how an airplane moves around its axis. From the cabin, being on the inside of a turn tends to feel like being dropped to somepeople. At high pitch angles, low to the ground and all that engines noise, its makes people very nervous.

    Dam oshkosh

Yes, I must be clueless. I am, of course, not referring to 121 or 135 ops. We are talking singles here. Gramps flying around without a clue. From now on I will full dissolve and dilute my posts as to eliminate any confussion.

    Dam oshkosh

Its not just VFR PPs though. I can't tell you how often I clear people for a visual approach after they call the field in sight and they won't cancel. I work several uncontrolled fields where my frequencies won't work on the ground, so after they read back the 'cleared visual approach' part; I...

    So when's the flightinfo reunion?

Can we hold it in the DC area and see if unanswered busts the ADIZ? I know this is for the 1000 post club, but I can't resist.

    Antonov-22: Listen to this

I think it sounds like that due to the counter rotating props. Would be hard to imagine an a/c with performace numbers like that turning a prop 1000 rpm.

    TCAS Altitude Information

Yeah sorry, thats what I meant by at altitude. Like if unknown a/c shows a mode c of 301 and I have someone at FL290, they don't see him on TCAS.
