What is really missing from this whole discussion is at what fuel load, realistically, can one expect the aircraft to potentially flame out an engine? At my airline, anything below 4000 lbs and you are now into the QRH running a checklist for a low fuel state. Doesn't really inspire much...
Perhaps your company's version is not the same as ours (RNP .16, DA of 461' and 1 1/2 mi vis?) I'd attach a PDF of our plate but I'm just not that good with graphics on FI. :0
To each his own, I guess, but to me the -700 is a pilot's airplane whereas the -800 and up are accountant's airplanes; IOW revenue potential increased at the direct expense of performance. For example: ever-present tail-strike potential; barely ever can break into FL4xx; severely compromised...
I got the RNAV Y 29 last month. Approach was assigning the STADIUM Visual 29 but granted us the RNAV Y after our request. Since it was night and we're out-of-towners, it was just easier to monitor the approach instead of trying to find those pesky ground reference points. Works good.
Actually, sounds more like someone posting either after really tying one on last night, or before that first big cup of morning joe.
I hope you are not confusing me with someone who actually has some say over what my airline considers competitive flight experience. I really don't. My only...
Maybe another way to look at the ATL is that it has really been two half-domiciles for quite a while now. About this time next year we should get a better idea of it's true size after being fully "Optimized" (man, am I getting sick of that word....)
I think the GO already had more than enough on their plates a year or so ago to also take on a new livery. As Howard mentioned, any jets that just got recently repainted get to wear the old scheme for the next seven years. Just like the corn-dog to canyon-blue transition, the fleet will be...
It's really no different than any other year when you have almost 700 airplanes. Also not nearly as busy as when "real" airlines decide on a new livery and believe the entire fleet has to get repainted ASAP....cost be damned!
I don't post much around here anymore, especially to the same obsolete digs about SWA, so you should consider this an honor Scoot...
How is SWA responsible for PFT? (yes, I know this question has been asked & answered millions of times already, but let's all hear Scoot's twisted version for...
I've never understood the community headset thing. Even when I was a poor commuter dog flying clapped-out Metros, I still sprang for my own headset. I'm no germaphobe, but sharing a headset with your entire seniority list would be right up there with sharing your ChapStick in my book. Plus...
Actually, I suspect the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey owns the MAT....you happen to be the current tenants (with all the legal protections that go along with it, of course.)
Entirely possible. I've long maintained that there was way more involved in the 717 deal than any of us...
One page.
Even if you've got a more impressive background than Bob Hoover, it can still be summed up on one page. All most pilot employers are looking for is hours, sheepskin or no, and who you're currently flying for. The rest is just fluff.
