I am planning a trip to BA in March. Is anybody going that way these days? I know FedEx and UPS do not take intl. jumpseaters. We are on CASS and have not tried ID90’s with the majors yet, but I was curious if there was a cargo airline going there now. I might consider going to VCP or SCL too...
Thanks. Looks like it will be FedEx to MCO and then Jet Blue to SJU. First vacations with my family in 4 yrs. When we where not on CASS I used to ride with NWA, and they always let me go in the back. Also Compass did. A Compass Captain asked me if I would mind taking the FA jumpseat since they...
For your info I have not jumpseated since 2008, when I moved to my base to spend more valuable time with my family. Used to jumpseat a lot before 9/11, even to Europe on DAL and UA. There are many ex colleagues, from two different airlines that furloughed us, working for AirTran. I didn’t go to...
If you read my post you can see that I did not know about the agreement, and neither asked any Captains for anything. I learned today that it is the gate agent that refuses you because you are not on the list, being on CASS or not. I am a Captain an anybody can ride with me, agreement or not. I...
I looked up at old posts about this but could not find an answer. Can anybody on CASS be able to jumpseat on AirTran or the two companies must also have a separate agreement to be able to jumpseat? My company has agreements with many airlines, but we were also provided with a list of airlines...
As I said before "I would not believe it until I see it". Well, at least one ex ASA plane was in MEM last Friday. They flew 2 to the maintenance hangar last week. I do not know about the other 2. A total of 4 planes for MAC that will not be ready until next year. Cargo mod, paint, paperwork...
You might go home on Saturday too. Add perdiem to that ($32.50 per day), some travel pay at $10 p/h, and if you drive your car to assigned city, mileage at IRS rate.
Doing well, with over 500 hrs PIC on the French lady. Can't complain, I am at home almost every day, and weekends. Kids starting soccer next friday, will be busy this year. How is the weather up there? I imagine is really nice in the summer time. Take care.
I second this opinion. Fatigue or "I want to get there and go to the hotel after a long day" could cause even an experienced crew to screw up. I have seen this before in very experienced guys. The captain and FO might have flown in icing conditions before and thought they were not accumulating a...
Forget about the comments above. In 2006 I was furloughed and received unemployment compensation from the state of TX. My local unemployment office told me that they did not have money allocated for flight training. One of my colleagues called the city of Dayton, OH, to see if they had a WIA...
"The investigation". That is the worst part. Dealing with the NTSB and Empire Management. I am glad they walked away, but the next few days are going to be hell. Hope they did everything "by the book", cause they will look at everything possible to blame the crew.
Anybody knows the weather...
