I am a new Delta poolie. Very grateful and humbled to be joining Delta. I believe I know a fair amount about the company, planes lines and bases etc but I still don't understand some of the terms for the equipment in bases. Can somebody please clarify what planes are described as the...
Wow that's interesting that you guys don't sign in. We have to on our first leg showing up for work 45 minutes prior to departure.
89% is junior. The smaller your percentage the more senior you are. SLC has a good mix of 200/700/900 flying. We fly all 3 in one day sometimes as a reserve...
4 years of reserve at Skywest in SLC for me. It is a VERY senior base for first officers. After 4 years I bid at about 89%, meaning 89% of first officers in the base are senior to me. In MSP I would bid about 20%. I get used almost every day on reserve and I have had a mix of am, pm, and lc...
Skywest: net year 1 = 22,000. Year 2= 43,000. Year 3 = 51,000. Year 4 = 61,000
Still an FO on reserve in SLC but am a line holder next month. Flying about 70 hours per month or around 17 days of work. Average about 95 hours of credit. Chop off about $8000 from the above figures for years 2-4...
I would love it if it were a 6 year upgrade. I am close to 4 years and am still smack in the middle of FO reserve. I am thinking upgrade is closer to 8 or 9 years for me. I am on reserve home based and I have learned to manage it and it isn't that big of a deal.
Flying about 100 hours credit per month at OO. Usually block around 70-80. As was said before. Lots of 13-16 hour 4-day trips. At least when they are reconciled at the end of the month I get a few extra hours out of them...
The only rumor I have seen come true on here was Skywest Inc. buying Expressjet when somebody posted it the night before. I thought maybe this board was gaining some credibility so I thought I would check back when I saw this posted...nothing.
Jerry came to my recurrent class a few weeks ago. He said no Q-400 flying. It was sort of on the table about 6 months ago but not now. I think this is a bogus rumor.
If Skywest took on any UAL pilots, they would furlough them the next day because we are so overstaffed. How does it make any sense to hire United pilots when there is no room for them? The United pilots would go to the bottom of the seniority list and just be furloughed from Skywest. How does...
I was Jan 28th RJ class of 08 and got SLC during IOE. I have a couple people below me in the base. I was really really lucky. Nobody else after me has been awarded SLC. Last summer I flew a lot, flew very little in the fall (15-30 hours per month,) and it picked up a bit again over the...
