After flying four hours to/from a fly-in this past weekend to western VA the bugs were horrendous. Ugh! I imagine those down south in Florida must have fun with bugs. Something I learned from my motorhome and bug cleaning is a great product by Shine supply - BUG OFF. Diluted per the instructions it cleaned the bugs off better than ever since owning this airplane!

Bug Off - 32oz. w/ Spray Bottle

I also used a gentle sponge with the above, looks like new!

Water in a spray bottle, mperhaps with a drop of Dawn mixed in, applied and wiped off immediately with a soft cloth after the flight, will do the trick. Takes about 5 minutes depending on the airplane. No need for vertical market priced solutions.

It it is in the rules for my flying club. Airplane always clean.

I think as @Tsquared educated me do it right away before the bugs dry up and "bake" on.

These products such as I posed are simply an enzyme that helps clean them and works well but possibly not needed.

I've been in the terrible habit of cleaning prior to flight instead of post flight, backwards, and working on it :)

It's my wife's job when we fly together. While I'm doing the post flight tie down, get the bags out, etc, she sprays and wipes.
