Attention Pilots!!

I am a fellow pilot and starving Ph.D. student in need of your help to improve the quality of services you receive from air traffic control. I am conducting a study asking pilots what they think of the services provided to them by their air traffic control provider. Your valued opinion is critical, as the U.S. government is currently considering converting its current air traffic control system to a system similar to Canada?s user-fee based system. This is your chance to personally weigh in on the matter.

The purpose of this study is to determine the quality of air traffic control services provided to pilots in both the United States and Canada. All you need to do is take a short survey about the services you receive from ATC. The result of this study may give officials from both countries greater insight into how to most effectively allocate resources within air traffic control to provide the best possible service for you!

This is your chance to provide valuable input. Please don?t pass up this opportunity to contribute to the future of your air traffic control.

Please copy and paste the following link to take the survey:

http://www.surveymethods.com/EndUser.aspx?DAFE928AD89E8C8FDD

Upon completion of the study, a summary of the results will be posted on this website.

Thank you in advance!

P.S. I owe anyone who takes this survey much gratitude and a beer!!

Hi Everyone,

The ATC service quality survey has developed a software glitch. I am working with surveymethods.com on a permanent solution. In the mean time, I removed the malfunctioning page allowing you to bypass the "Inclusion Criteria" page and go directly to the survey. Please ensure you meet the following criteria before selecting the survey link. You must

- Be a certificated pilot.
- Reside in the United States or its territories, including Guam and Puerto Rico.
- Have used U.S. air traffic control services within the previous twelve months.
- All participants will be 18 years of age or older.

Also, the "Inclusion Criteria" page I had to temporarily bypass directs residents of Canada to a Nav Canada specific survey. Please contact me if you are a resident of Canada and I will send you the Nav Canada link.

Thank you for your patience.

Sincerely,
Catherine Essner

Not sure what you're getting at, but what's with the visually appealing questions? Who cares what the tower, center building, or AIM cover looks like?

Hi Everyone,

My study is wrapping up very soon. Many thanks to those who have already taken the survey! I am forever grateful! I have only had 28 pilots from the U.S. and 61 pilots from Canada take the survey. This is way short of my goal of 385. The survey website is fully functioning and awaiting your responses. Please help out if you have a few minutes. I really appreciate it!!

Thank you!
Catherine

I agree, those are not the best questions. I did not make up the survey and am using an established survey for my study. The rest of the questions apply. Thank you for taking the time to check out the survey!

Hi Everyone,

This is the last weekend for you to voice your opinion on air traffic control service quality. Thank you so much for all of those who have helped out! I really appreciate it! For those of you who haven't yet, this is a great opportunity to weigh in on the quality of service ATC provides to you. Have a great weekend!

Thanks!
Catherine

Done! Best of luck, hope you get more respondents.
