How does basing work at American with new hires? Their APC profile states the merger is complete so does that mean you could be assigned or bid into DFW just as you would CLT. Or are they still operating as 3 companies and depending on which company your hired under you fall into their basing until further negotiations? Thanks and I apologize if this has been covered.
 
They can assign to any of the 3 companies initially, and for right now, there is no cross-bidding between legacy AA, legacy US east, and legacy US west. The joint contract is complete, but there is still a lot that has to be implemented..."IT issues" seem to be delaying a lot of the implementation. Once the seniority list is integrated (early next year) and the company integrates their scheduling software (targeted for Oct 2016) then it will all be one airline and cross-bidding should be available to everyone except for a few widebody fences.
 
Most, if not all, US new hires will go to the E190 in PHL. There have been a few Airbus PHL new hires in the past, but they don't expect that again for a while because so many E190 FOs are bidding out of the 190 as they reach 2nd year pay.
 
What are the odds of getting "stuck" in the 190 for year 2 and beyond? I tend
to be "that guy" who those things happen to.
 
Oh man, at first I thought this thread was titled "American bashing". I was all like, I'm in! JK. With a loss of 90% of the seniority list in 15 years (assuming age 65 stands), things should be moving fairly quickly at the double A.

That's funny..I was thinking the same thing. I've heard the upgrade time on the E190 is very quick..is it that bad?
