Did the US Air application window open today and then close?
Had several people tell me that the window opened this morning but as of 2pm eastern it is not open .... anymore.

At the last job fair a few weeks ago I was told those who attended the fair would receive an email when the window opened. I received no email

This sounds like good news. I thought they were getting ready to furlough 200. Was that bad info?

yup, shortage of pilots is really going to happen. A window opens up for a few hours and they get a thousand applicants all for 16 jobs. Something tells me the same thing will happen everywhere. hundreds of Comair pilots on the street, Pinnacle will be the next one to get 50 seaters cut which will force hundreds on the street. Let me guess, people will still be talking about a pilot shortage when people cant get a job at a place worth working

Is USAIR that airline that no one wanted to go too that in 10 years will be awesome? It seems unlikely now but you never know.

You may have seen a thread here from 2009 that got resurrected!

If you already submitted the app and you want to go back and change some things, can you withdrawal your app and then start all over?

I don't understand why these major airlines, that need all these people, cannot get their job offers to make sense.

For example, I have about 5000 ME jet, but I don't qualify for USAir...because they want "Minimum Qualifications
- 1500 hours of combined turboprop and turbojet flight time"
I have 0 turboprop hours, so I am not qualified, according to the person(s) that wrote this ad... it says I need both jet AND turboprop flight time.

USAir, please hire a Technical Writer...

"1500 hours of combined turboprop and turbojet flight time"

Agreed. Very poorly written.

I believe the turboprop addition/combo is for the Piedmont guys.

They have hired quite a few Piedmont pilots and they only have turboprop time. They have no turbojet time.

There is no combination requirement. They just accept both.
