He would not work for Evergreen we are going under. He said he has a friend that works for the company that owns N492EV and he knows what we are paying for the lease on the plane.

you'll be happy to hear that they're also looking at a 2nd (I guess 3rd in total) -400 as well from what my sources tell me... but both aren't inked yet.

hope it works for all of us... last thing I need is 100+ 747 captains competing for jobs with me! ;)

We already are competing with you for the jobs at FedEx and UPS! Even some senior Capt's want out along with all the junior and middle seniority.

that's disgraceful.... I remember back when I got into flying, Evergreen was a good gig, gosh they had DC9's DC8's, 747's, and God knows what else... UPS didn't even exist and Fedex was another "job"...

We moved N238AS to PDX last week. Is the other plane we are looking at another EX JAL jet?

that would be it, a 20 year old clean bird. #25308.. was JA8086...

I just checked with my friend and he said it's apparently been delivered to EZ.

The other one is rumored to be JAL also, yes.

I wonder how this will work for carriers like Atlas and World. They are not "all cargo", but they fly cargo and freight, and the pilots interchange randomly.

I am purely guessing, but I would imagine they would either spin off the pax side and make them seperate entities with their own crews or if the crews continue to interchange they would have to abide by the newer more restrictive FDT limits across the board. The way the new regs are written I don't see them able to do say a month on cargo and a month on pax it would get too confusing and contradict the duty and flight hour periods and accumulations.
