Unable... to... control... altitude
Unable... to... control... airspeed

Hope all you guys that think this is funny learned something from it. It might just save your life.

I think they remained very much under control considering they had no idea how funny they were being.
 
CVR's are learning tools and teaching tools, not entertainment media.

If you find this sort of thing amusing, you should listen to the CVR of the Western DC-10 that crashed in Mexico City. It's a laugh riot.

Not familiar with that accident... What happened?
 
No. And no disrespect to you intended; I would not post it if I did. It is horrifying.

The ATC tape in this incident could have just as easily ended with:

"Kalitta 66, Cleveland? Kalitta 66, Cleveland? Kalitta 66, Cleveland...?"

The guys in that Learjet were closer to their deaths than I ever want to be in an airplane. We can learn from it, but there is nothing amusing about it.

The Western DC10 accident was in say 1978. They landed on a closed runway and broke apart. Most if not all were killed.There is a recording of it out someplace online. One thing about aviation, we sure like to repeat our mistakes.This Kalitta incident/ Pane Stewart accident, Western in Mexico City/ DAL landing on taxiway in ATL to name a few.....

In the interest of learning what happened in cockpit of the Western Airlines flight I spent about 15 minutes trying to find the transcripts and was unable to find anything.
