SEATTLE — A 39-year-old man is in custody after he tried to rush the exit door of an Alaska Airlines jet as it was taxiing to a gate at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport.

Airport spokesman Perry Cooper says passengers and the crew had to subdue the man Monday, who was apparently anxious to get off the plane. One crew member was bitten in the arm during the scuffle and was taken to Highline Medical Center in Burien, Wash., for treatment of minor injuries.

The man was taken to Highline for a mental health evaluation, before being transferred to King County Jail. He was expected to be booked on investigation of felony assault.
Flight 108 from Anchorage, Alaska, landed in Seattle at about 4:30 a.m. Monday. Cooper says no other airport operations were affected.

Guess he didn't want to pay $6.00 for the Angus Burger!

No one cares, its not a thread about Southwest Airlines... please delete. I bet this never happened and it was a made up story to try and take the focus off of us.

I don't see where it says the bite victim was a pilot. I can't understand why a pilot would have exited the cockpit before the aircraft reached the gate.

I call BS until further info.

I think it was. Rumor has it that it was an anti age 65 Alaska F/o who mistakenly thought that Fudge was a greedy old Captain...so he bit him.

It's just a rumor.

You're truly an idiot......

Oh, and the bite victim was indeed an Alaska FO....

That avatar suits you to a T.

You have this strange propensity to leap to the defense of fudgepacker.
Why is that? You ranted in a previous post that you knew him better than anyone. I believe your right.

Now I will move down to your level.....You're truly an idiot.....

The least you can do to show you have some intelligence is use "you're" correctly consistently (not just using my quote to you.)

If I bother you so much, put me on your ignore list. Oh, so you actually believe something me or Fubi said? You still thinking he's a FO??

Jumper has his face buried so far up Fubi's posterior the two are indistinguishable.

Perhaps a little too similar

The article was very vague as was the info we got from the rumor tree. I am assuming the FO was in back commuting home and tried to help out. Truth is, you never know what you are going to get out of Anchorage. I would imagine this rabid dog of a person took some kind of illicit drug on descent and had a bad reaction. Or they were completely nuts. Who knows. Hope he didn't have HIV or rabies.

SEATAC, Wash. -- An Alaska Airlines crew member was taken to the hospital after an early morning attack by a passenger at Sea-Tac airport. The incident happened on Alaska Airlines flight 108 from Anchorage just after 4:30 am Monday morning.
Alaska Airlines officials say a passenger became disruptive towards the end of the flight and charged the door once the plane was stopped at the gate. Crew members and other passengers were able to calm the suspect down.
Because the plane was parked at the gate, the First Officer (Co-Pilot) came out of the cockpit to assist. In the struggle, the passenger bit the First Officer on the arm. Port of Seattle Police took both the First Officer and the passenger to the hospital. The passenger will undergo a mental evaluation and could face felony assault charges.

True Story, heard from a management person today that they had just docked at the gate, before the jetway was in place. This Nut freaked out and attempted to open the L1 door. Apperently they had just opened the flight deck door when it started, the FO was trying to help the the A, who was trying to keep him from opening the door before the jetway was in place!

Wrong.

Correct. We talked to the F/O on the phone the night it happened. The jet was at the gate. Passenger tried to open the door. F/As tried to restrain him, when the F/O came out of the flight deck, the pax was down on the floor with the F/A and a couple other pax holding him down. When the F/O went to assist, the guy bit a chunk out of his forearm.

That sounds closer to the truth, except the passenger was still up and trying to open the door when the FO came out and he processed to wrestle the passenger to the ground with the assistance of other passengers.

I think you might be right. I heard the story 2nd hand from the guy who talked to the F/O on the phone.

Overheard at the bar, you think you had a bad day? Lemme tell you about the time...

As long as the door was disarmed, perhaps the simplest solution would have been to let him open it. He steps out into space, legs peddling like Wiley Coyote running off a cliff.

The PD scrape him off the tarmac into the van. Problem solved.
