Working for an airline management (SWA) that actually honors the contract it signs....Priceless.

And thank you to SWAPA for identifying the devil that is RJ's and nailing them to the wall with a crossbow bolt straight through the head.

Southwest to Drop SkyWest Code-Share Flights Done for AirTran

Southwest Airlines Co. (LUV), which completed the purchase of AirTran Holdings Inc. this month, plans to end the smaller carrier’s flights to six Midwest cities operated under a code-sharing agreement with SkyWest Inc. (SKYW)

Future service to those cities, which were linked to AirTran’s Milwaukee hub, hasn’t been decided, Southwest Chief Executive Officer Gary Kelly said today in Dallas after the airline’s annual meeting. Southwest’s pilot contract doesn’t allow for that kind of code-share flying in the U.S., he said.

SWA doing what DAL won’t do. Hey DAL, watch, you may learn something.


Do the same with VOLARIS, TOMORROW. Do it, or just shut it. Comair will be down to 44 total planes, after having over 200. That's better than your Skywest deal. Freedom Air (Mesa) E145s are gone. ASA was forced to dump lots of 50 seaters over to United, away from Delta. Expressjet had an LAX base with E145s, and they are gone too. Get your facts straight, and let the Airtran guys teach you how to fly to Mexico.

True, but having a management group that respects it's workers is a big part of it. I've worked for a few hostile management groups that exploit the RLA at every opportunity. I can name a dozen airlines that would have dragged this out as long as possible if for no other reason than to prove a point to their pilots.

So whats the check amount for SkyWest? Im sure SkyWest isnt too upset as its only 6 planes and they need them as spares currently anyway. Plus the termination cost will be a nice boost to SkyWest bottom line...
