how the h#ll can Branson have a 51% stake in VA??? Is he an american citizen?

Because, despite the legal objections brought by various entities, the courts never made him sell enough to take him out of a majority share status.

It's about the money. Has been in our court systems for the better part of a century.

UHHH VA is referring to VIGIN ATLANTIC... NOT virgin America,....

That's what I get for reading only the initial poster's post and not clicking on the internet link to read it...

:)

Sounds like he's abandoning the airline biz. Bad news for VX.

I've always heard the VA guys get paid dick to fly widebodies.

Anyone know what they actually make?

Saw 2 guys going to an A340 the other day, and they looked pretty ragged, like sub-regional ragged "I don't make very much so I don't care" even.

Those salaries are in pounds. They are base salaries, they also get paid an hourly rate on top of their salaries. Their allowances are also a lot more than the pathetic perdeium we get in the US. Its closer to $8 an hour for a layover in the US. Better vacation, better insurance and a retirement. Those guys are idiots, theyd be much better off over here.

right... VA pilots are better paid than American pilots when all is said and done. $200K for typical captain..

$200k/yr living in the UK or $150k/yr living in the USA. Ill bet it comes to about the same qol when you factor in the cost of living differences.

that is true... UK is pricy.

Average income in uk is 22000 pounds a year, if youre make more than 5 times that you can live very well. it would be like making more than $250000 a year over here.
