Strong career expectations with no furloughs? Only 5% more swa would of hit 15% RIOC without AT? AT was bought to get rid of competition? AT junk rated? Code share with AT?What does this mean?

What is GK's Plans?

Southwest will take 16 737-700s next year replacing a like number of classics and Wright indicated there will be no fleet growth outside of AirTran.

You missed this one

Adding to its five-year goals is controlling costs as well as maintaining and adequate fuel hedge position that is now becoming increasingly important as fuel edges toward USD90. It also recommitted to maintaining investment-grade credit and adequate liquidity, meaning it will have to bring up the AirTran results, which are now junk rated.

Missed this too

Lots of stagnation?

What's the upgrade time gonna be after the merger for recent or soon-to-be newhires? 20 years? Any estimates?

Good question. We all know that most current SWA Capts wanted age 65 to happen, and they may ask for an eventual Age 70 increase, because retiring at age 65 is obviously discriminatory. (TIC) But, we do know the AT group is mostly a younger bunch, so that could extend some upgrade times I guess. It all depends on the arbitration probably, which will be interesting to watch, no doubt. GOOD LUCK TO ALL INVOLVED.

Over half of our pilot group retires in less than 20 years so the upgrades will not be 20 years. Future growth will be the ultimate factor in determining how long and that will likely be a function of how smooth the Airtran acquisition goes.
