If the Valujet SWA merger goes anything like straight relative by equipment 3:1, this is what you might encounter. I hope not. It is pretty ugly, just like the chick with her threats.
Can you sense the entitlement by the PFT crowd.
Beware. It is all about hate and me me me.

You are a joke. At least Instructor dude is funny to read and you know he can't actually think that way. I truly believe you are this person.

The East was warned in no uncertain terms. LOA93 3years later. No relief in sight. Couldn't have happened to a nicer bunch of A-holes.

MCDU, can you refresh our memory on what happened at Airways, I think several pilots have forgotten . . .

Same thing that happened to United, NWA and Delta. Lots of furloughs, loss of pension etc, Pretty sad. But Skybus, ATA and AWA were hiring. Go figure.

MCDU...if you are going to post something, at least make an attempt to get a fraction of it correct. There is no Valujet. Valujet does not exist. This merger is between AirTran Airways and Southwest Airlines.

Interesting video. Very similar seniority situation with the SWA/AT integration except.....

the purchasing company has the more "senior" group whereas the controlling company in the AWA/USA merger was more "junior".

That can be a big difference.

Two parties agree to abide by and arbitrated settlement. One doesn't like the result and refuses to abide by the settlement.

And you wonder why the other party is upset?

Heyas,

AAA/AWA SLI = Realtive seniority + cutouts for large equipment (large disparity in DOH ignored)
NWA/DAL SLI = Relative seniority + cutouts for large equipment
AAI/SWA SLI = Relative seniority + (oops, no large equipment, so no cutout)

Once it goes to arbitration, you lose any and all control. You can make any kind of argument you want. But in the end, it won't matter, and the aribitrator(s) will do what he/she/they want to do, and what that will be is to go with precedent.

MCDU is right. It can get ugly. If you have no respect for the rule of law and/or you refuse to abide by the process you agreed to enter into. You too can end up with a lengthy court battle that you will lose.

PFT?
I thought it was posted that you worked for Gulfstream International.
Isn't that PFT on the grandest scale?

Nu,

There is no precedent to award a 20 year increase in longevity along with a 50% pay increase. It has never happened.

Look to SWA/Muse and AK/Jet America for relevant precedent.

Some Dope in a an RJ posts that and you believe him? Are you that gulibble.
I hope not.

The pay increase will be non-sequitur. That is between the AT pilots at SWA, not between ATALPA and SWAPA. Since CBAs are temporary, and seniority is "forever", arbitrators have wisely discounted them.

The arbitrator will see this: 20 year career expectation for SWA pilot: 737 captain. 20 year career expectation for AAI pilot: 737 Captain.

And those two cases aren't even remotely recent or applicable. JA had 10 airplanes, and Muse 16. But whatever helps you sleep at night.
