HEY BEST FRIENDS. Great news on your profits. Just think though what it could have been with added bag fees attached? Maybe twice that figure. And, it is great news you are getting a 3% pay increase too. I am sure the AT guys are also happy about that, since that 3%, added to the eventual 35%, will equal a 38% raise to what they earn now, which is good for all of us. Regardless, I think ALL OF YOU ARE FANTASTIC PEOPLE. REALLY. YOUR MERGER WILL MAKE EVERYONE COMBINED EVEN MORE AWESOME. Below are our updated pay rates effective September 1. These rates are planned to be reflected in your November 20 paycheck and retro pay will be calculated from September 1.

This is good news for pilots. However, how about the ground crews (rampers, customer service agents, and provisioning agents who were or maybe still are the $10 or $12 per hour slaves?). A 2 or 3% raise isn't much these days for those folks, especially living in some of the cities that SWA serves.
First time in a long time SWA's profit was behind DAL,UAL,and CAL's profit...interesting times ahead.
Converted to hourly, we now top out at $210... not too shabby. 2% more next year (and maybe 3%).
