Actually, this is reassuring. I would rather have my family on that flight!

What exactly is the "wind check" telling you that reassures you? It isn't what the wind is going to be when and where you touch down. I prefer to use things like flags, wind socks, water, trees, and which way I have to point the nose to give me an idea of the wind.....
By the way, how do you land at airports after the tower closes or at uncontrolled airports...No wind check then....
I don't get it??? Fill me in on your stupidity!
Will people ever learn to not consent to a search request...especially if you have something to hide?

Fly into Denver sometimes. Then you will see why I am glad the Delta pilots are asking.

This touches on the philosophy of debating. What you are implying by telling the group "try flying into DEN sometime" is that you do it all the time and we have no experience flying into DEN, or for that matter any other airport where the winds can shift quite a bit.
So lets go back to the simple aurgument of Joe Merchant. He says that he would rather use other indicators to forcast what the winds are going to be doing on touchdown vs someone calling for a windcheck. By no means am I saying that the guy calling for a wind check is not using any other means to estimate the wind upon landing. I am saying there are aurguments out there that the guy calling for a wind check is taking up "air time" on the radio and that call is not nesacery (sp).
Lets find common ground amongst the group by stating this fact. Calling for a wind check CAN be one of many tools used to estimate the winds on the ground at the time of landing.
Yes he's a Comair pilot. JB had a meeting with our MEC who is pissed off about it because it has given Comair a black eye.
Your signature line says it all: "I'm a dork and should have logged out last-time."
Good bye.

How many eyes can Comair have?
How can we tie this into the East-West debate at Airways?
Oh, and Mesa sucks....

"Pilot From NC Charged With Growing Marijuana"The article only said "employee" not "pilot". For what its worth.
Actually, if you don't get he reference, it is you who is stupid. . . . or you've never operated into ATL . . . or DFW . . . or LGA . . . or BOS . . . or . . nevermind.
Stupid shouldn't call the stupid "stupid", Stupid.
