Mesa just announced that since they lost the court injuction with Delta Airlines they are returning ALL the ERJ145 back to the bank. And are going to Furlough 200 pilots, going as far back to May 2006 classes. Lot of downgrades and i imagine many Captains will be leaving since airlines such as Jetblue are hiring now.

jetblue hiring 150 doubt all will come from mesa, and Dl hiring only A handful. Karma

Wtf is that supposed to mean? You were obviously beaten by your step sister as a child. Have some decency for the families that are about to be screwed.

Were you just as upset for the comair families?

I think some people are saying that Mesa screwed the industry for so long that is karma that the pilots that enabled it are getting screwed back.

"Some People" are definatley saying that.

You kids would be wise to pay close attention to what is happening here. We will more than likely have to give JO and the boys a contract extension and maybe some concessions to boot. Mesa as usual seems to be the leader in what is to come your way. More competition for less and less contract feed. Even if Mesa survives this down turn the future holds few options for contract lift due to mergers.

Good luck to us all.

Yeah but the airframe leaser, Bombardier, does not have to agree with reduced terms. They can take the a/c back and move the 700/900 to another airline. I bet JA has plenty of money and a great relationship with the boys from YUL.

It's not JOs fault that he runs a cheaper operation than Comair. The fact of the matter is that the pilots that enabled the disaster that is mesa have already been long gone or are lifers in CLT or PHX. That was almost a deacde ago when they were held hostage by JO. You can't seriously blame the poor mesa pilots.

Yes you can they went to work there so they should have done their homework. Chasing the quick upgrade and fly for a crap airline will now come back to haunt them...Sorry little sympathy from me and others.

This has to be sarcasm. Right?
JO does not run a cheaper operation. When shareholders loose their money, that is a huge cost. You can only subsidize an airline and pay/treat your employees crap for so long before your time is up. The days of J.O. at Mesa are going to be over. He can spend his retirement becoming an expert aviation advisor to Fox News.

Yea, thats right give more concessions! Hell, just fly them for free.....

This is not the thread to get into this, but you are the LAST person who should be talking about families getting screwed.

When do these 200 furloughs begin?

Congratulations, you have asked a resonable, rational question! I don't have an answer, but we will probably all learn 'how soon' in the near future.

I did my homework, I paid nothing to get on with Florida Gulf and you paid your cash and basically worked for free at ASA,

I did NOT pay to join ASA...I came in after the PFT. Thanks anyway.

Arent they going to file an appeal that would take until at least December to resolve? This would at least buy some of these people some time to find another job...and I cant understand why they would furlough until they know the status of the appeal..these ERJ's are not going to go away overnight...its going to take AT LEAST two months for Delta to weed them out of the system...Mesa or not, they have mortgages and kids just like everyone else..noone deserves this crap...

Unfortunate but with the recent news it was unavoidable.

I've never met a "bad" MAG guy in the short time I was wearing the uniform. To all affected (notice that I used the A version) I wish you the best. Getting furloughed sucks...hard...with teeth.

What?. Karma is a bitch isn't it? What about all the other regionals that furlough pilots and cut down their number to twist their arms into taking the bucking bottom of the barrel MESA RATES! You can take the sympathy and shove it! Paybacks a bitch!

This was the result of the appeal from the first time Delta kicked them to the curb.

How's that? I didn't screw anybody when there was no job for them to begin with. You should point your anger at the ALPA leadership that played chicken with the future of TSA pilots especially when they knew they had no scope.
