Any info on facilities, approaches or your experiences , I'd appreciate a ton!

10K? ft runway, ILS, easy handling in and out...Hilton downtown is OK as of a year ago. The Grand Hotel is nicer.

Basel is notorious for freezing fog in the early am, when is your arrival? departure?

I went through 9K worth of deicing in Basel one morning! Somebody wanted to save money and not hangar.

:erm:

Have'nt been there yet. We'll get in after a LFPB dropoff on Sunday, so early afternoon, their time. Then we'll have a couple days to look around. It doesnt appear they have radar, at least below 6000 or so, and their approaches seem a bit goofy. (I'll tell my planner about the Grand Hotel.)

Thanks a ton!!

I dont recall exactly, but have shot the ILS there before and swore it was just vectors to final....either way...

Enjoy! crews I have been with went skiing whenever we went there....you can buy a whole package and hop on the train right downtown.

Was there a year ago and had no problems. We were coming from Russia, so that Basel was a piece of cake compared to the commies!!! We stayed at the Radisson and it was ok. Really liked the town.

Currently in Basel
radar all the way down to touchdown, from which ever way your coming, just be nice and the french can be too. In the Hilton and been to Radisson. Both good hotels and good pub food around.
Enjoy the city,it is nice to walk around and parks and you can walk around the Rhine river. And the exchange rate is quite good
