Anyone else see this video of the G5/550 taxiing, then taking off, its been on the news every day since this whole Government request came in for 3 new 550's.

I can't find any pictures of it on the net, but the video is clear as a bell.

Its either a G5 or a 550. It has extended fuselage sides that look to be maybe 2 feet out on each side. Looks like it adds like 4 feet of fuse width.

Maybe its just some military conversion they did on one of them.

They show a quick clip of a cockpit right after the take-off clip, don't know if its that planes' cockpit, but it is a G5 cockpit in the short clip.

antennas for military surveillance.... i.e. side looking RADAR

You sure. The extended sides are the entire length of the fuse, from just behind the windscreens all the way back to just before the engines.

I'm surpirsed, whatever it is...that they don't effect the engines intake airflow. The extensions are huge.

This what you saw?

Thats it. I guess with no windows its definitely not a passenger jet anymore. In the video of it taxiing and taking off that they've been showing on FOX news its hard to see that there were no windows. But thats definitely it.

Thanks.

I was like damn, "that is one awesome STC. Make a G5 like 8 feet wider. Kind a like a pop-out trailer.
