The refusal to build infrastructure is indicative of a CEO who's only interested in short-term, personal profits, not someone who is trying to stay in business for the long-haul.

Tilton needs to go, not like that's news to anyone.

I liked working for United when I was there, but it sure is hard to see what's happened since I got furloughed. I'm glad that I didn't take the recall, but I hate to see what was once the world's greatest airline take such a fall. It's a real shame.

Good luck to all who are still there, I hope something good happens for you.

Continental still has several computer systems in place that were in place during the Lorenzo days:

Sonic
Shares
CMS
CCS
FOMS
to name a few......

United has Unimatic, Delta has Deltamatic. What's it called at American and Continental?

I think American is still utilizing SABRE. Any AA or Eagle people who can confirm that?

Good one...go back to your MS flight simulator kid.

It is a good one, too bad it also has to be so da&# typical for this farsical operation..Delta and NMA didn't have this many failures when they merged.. and this is UAL on a big summer day push in ORD of all places...

I wouldn't take much notice except that several former squadronmates of mine at UAL with 10 and 11 years senority are getting whacked in the near future or have quit altogether. Mid 40's and scrambling to start over again or go back on active duty if the services will even take them. Furloughed once was bad enough, now they are facing a second...I wouldn't wish that on anyone.
I punched out of UAL 6 years ago and landed on my feet, very lucky.

BTW we didn't need MS flight sim, we did it for real. Go back to yours, I might suggest.

Any news of Trans States Airlines canceling a bunch of UAX flights because of the FAA grounding 15 of their aircraft?
Hearing it from a friend but haven't seen anything else on the web..
