Have a professional, well thought out, cover letter pasted in the e-mail. You would not believe the number of people that send nothing more than flight times and work history.

Those that do send a comment or two in the e-mail type like retarded monkeys banging on a keyboard.

Put something like:

Thank you for taking a moment to review my qualifications. You will find that my experience and expertise will be a great asset to your business. Your company has a reputation for excellence and safety that will...blah...blah...blah

You get the point. Butter them up. Make them feel like you are star struck with their superior operation and then make them think that you are such a stud that they can't do without you. No problem. Right?

Of course, you have to do that without being obvious or cocky. Plus, you should avoid using the words I and my as much as possible. I'm not saying eliminate I and my, but don't use it so often that you look self centered.
