Son, when you get paid by the minute, that's the way you want it...nice and slow.Do the trash 8's go any faster then a 172?
Slightly. The Dash is a real pilots airplane. It can and will do anything you ask of it, except go fast.Do the trash 8's go any faster then a 172?

If your taking about the Dash 8 Q400 then yea it goes fukin way faster then a 172!
The real question is:Do the trash 8's go any faster then a 172?
"Slow to 140, your following a Dash-8 on a 10 mile final."
"Slow to 140, your following a Dash-8 on a 10 mile final."
Yeah I know. I Find it odd that a plane can fly the approach faster than it can cruise.
The screen on the tailcone (100-300 mods) is to protect from Canada Geese birdstrikes from behind.
Yet everyone one else is saying it's a transexual's airplane...The Dash is a real pilots airplane.
does this sound like philly to anyone else? The Dash 8 makes crummy controllers look like plane pushing gods:
"Piedmont, minimum forward speed..."
(30 seconds later)
"Piedmont max forward speed, direct to the numbers!"
does this sound like philly to anyone else?

Took the words right out my....thought. Those guys suck.
Land on 35, right on the numbers to make the first turnoff, and they still make you taxi all the way north then back to the gate.
I guess that will teach us prop drivers.
I've always liked the Dash 8 for some reason. There is a pretty neat show on Nat Geo Explorer about flying the Dash in the Congo landing on some crazy runways
DCA Controllers were the best! They knew what the plane could do and used it to their advantage to make the system work better.
I miss all those flights into DCA.
