Would a NJ pilot be able to tell me what equipment is based in BTV, GSP and how senior these two bases are?

Thanks

No such thing as bases for equipment. When hired, you can live in any of the 100 crew bases. What equipment you are assigned makes no difference. You are put in a certain piece of equipment due to company needs, not location.

Seniority also plays no roll in where you can live. Again, you can live in any of the 100 bases and change as often as you like with a 30 day notice.

Well, we have 100 bases and they do not go by seniority. You choose the base that fits you when you are hired. You may then change a base as often as you want..so long as you give the company 30 days notice. As for equipment, the bases are not aircraft specific. In this business they can not be. You fly out of your base to whereever your plane is at on that given day. So, in short, every base has every plane based at it...:)

It is amazing as big as we are and such a highly sought after place of employment how little people actually know about us including most of these guys who are applying. I had people at my interview who didn't know 7 and 7 was the primary schedule!! Well I guess that is one of the good things about these message boards. I spent 30 minutes explaining to a CAL pilot how we just get "airlined" positive space to our airplane and then "airlined" home at the end of the tour.

Thanks to the pilots that responded.

I'm sorry to tell you that I'm not applying, just curious.

With the flexibility of domiciles at NJA, do they also pay to ship your household goods from domicile to domicile and provide travel allowances? (kinda like the military does when you PCS) Just curious. If so, thats a lot of coin that adds up and a great benny for the pilots there.

No. Moving expenses (and travel expenses associated with a move) aren't reimbursed. That'd sure be nice, though! But with a move possible every 30 days, probably not a realistic expectation.

It wasn't a personal shot at you www. I came from the airline world too and know it can be difficult to think outside of the hub and spoke domiciles of the 121 world.
