Capital Air Cargo (Cappy) 757s..

I thought I just read that Cappy was now flying 757s (ex-DAL 757s at that). Which routes will they fly? I think I saw something that said BNA would see one. Will they be flying through TOL? How many will you get total? Thanks.

The contract we have is with dhl central america. The aggreement is for a total of 6 75's. 4 would be leased to cental american countries that work for DHL, and we would operate 2 in our colors. All would be out of miami south bound to panama, costa rica, and caracas. Nothing in North America for either DHL or Bax.

Is Capital Air Cargo hiring? Do pilots there tend to start on the 727 panel and then work up to FO? Where are the pilot domiciles - Toledo? Also, do they put you up in nice hotels for your day rests?

home based 2 weeks on 2 off, home based, they usually hire PFE's but we have been hiring SO's lately. Quick upgrade from all seats. They usually hire 2 classes a year. We just finished one so I would expect another toward the end of the year. Hotels are ok. Nothing really bad. Some are very nice.

Good info Niteflyer. I always thought it would be great to fly a classic like the 727. Are they FMS equipped? What is the percentage of night flying vs. day flying? Also, do you guys fly on the weekends too?

95% of the flying is night. Some trips are better than others of course. Some are 12 to 13 hours duty a night some are 6 to 8. Most flying is 4 days a week, none on weekends except for the very rare charter, but some lines are required some reserve hours friday night or saturday morning. Mexico and miami usually operate on saturdays. I think 9 aircraft have fms the others have gps. If you can hold a line where you work you will only be working about 10 days a month, weekends off at home, not bad.
