Show your employer you will not work for your present wages, leave that job and go to another job that pays you more. Employers are very sensitive to employees voting with their feet.

Very good point. Why do you think that the salaries are going up in the contract world? (our company just announced an increase in pay and conditions) there is a feeding frenzies right now due to the pilot shortage and folks are moving on for better paying gigs, most of the folks let the company know and ask for improvements but if the company doesn't pay better, they move on.
It is funny to read some of the mail that I receive here at home in the US (the address that I gave when I got my Japanese ATPL) all of them begin with "our records show that you have an ATPL yadda-yadda" "we are very interested in talking with you" It is really funny how airline management becomes so polite and friendly when they need you

You might have a chance! With the need for pilots in Australia in the next few years, the contract companies are expecting that this market that was up to now an exporter of ex pat pilots will become an ex pat market it self

An FAA ATP is an ICAO ATPL ( JAA, FAA...etc..)

with all the open skies, Australia being the latest it is no wonder their need for aviators. the guys going over seas now may have the seniority jump when airlines are foreign owned.
