Anyway to build a schedule at Emirates that would let you commute? Is this crazy speak?

Just wondering b/c I have the interview coming up and have a family that will not move. Wife is a Houston rich bitch who I outta just leave anyway but my kids need her and I love my kids.

If you try to commute you'll end up divorced.

Some people try to commute, but that's no life. Huge time zone change like that will ruin you in no time. A commute to Europe is doable, but not in the sense that Americans commute for each trip. A commute at Emirates means you get home once per month for a few days. With vacation used wisely you could get 9 months of the year with more than 10 days off in a row. No jumpseat and full planes means you'll be paying a lot of money to commute. Think carefully before commiting.

Not to mention that loads out of JFK and IAH are consistently full. It's a crap shoot if you non rev on the days that you can get on. With FO pay, nonreving back and forth to the states would get pricy too. Commuting to the states would be a hard life.

If you hate the wife it might work. Go see the kids in Houston, Texas every few months, since it is an EK destination.

ooops!

Why consider it at all if the wife is rich? Just buy a little Piper and tool around in between golf lessons...

I didn't know UAE even allowed commuting. I thought getting hired at that airline was conditional on moving to Dubai....??

It may get expensive commuting...but it wont cost anymore than going out over the weekend and paying $9.00 a beer in Dubai.

Just dont pull out a large sum of money when buying that 9 buck beer or it will be like moths around a porch light
