"US Airways boasts that its merger has been a success. Still, it has yet to fully integrate the unionized labor groups at the two airlines, and unions demonstrated outside the airline's headquarters Thursday, alongside a 30-foot rat meant to symbolize US Airways' management,"

At least that monthly check is going to a good cause!!

Are you a union pilot? If so, what are you doing to make the union better? If posting this is the biggest union activity you have participated in, then you have no right to complain. As has been said before, the union is only as strong as it's membership, it's not a magic solution.

30 Foot Tall Rat

That'll teach 'em!

You, too, can participate with them. They would welcome any and all. Supposedly, they marched with us a few years ago in Utah.

The CAL pilots will march Wall Street.....

Whats better... one pilot or 10,000?

.......that depends....are the 10000 pilots unified and pulling in the same direction...if not than it doesn't really matter unless you are trying to put on a facade.....

Rez, face it, ALPA is trying to do the impossible. It will never be able to fairly represent all the airline groups. Much like your attempt at making the profession better...it's very pie-in-the-sky. Fly Safe, Brother!

so we should unfairly represent everyone? and not make the profession better? that is what you advocate?
I'm saying to quit pissing on everyone's leg and telling them it's raining. You can't try and spin the fact that ALPA cannot represent the interest of 2 competing pilot groups.

So what do you suggest?

All right... then what? Bring another entity on property, or form your own in house Union.
Either encourage USAPA to represent all air line pilots or improve the current one.
How can any Union collectively represent employees from 2 different and competing business entities? Especially when one business model is succesful and the other is not? When one group is truly considered a "career carrier" and the other is considered a "stepping stone"? When years of seniority built at one carrier don't mean squat when that carrier tanks?

And what if USAPA gets voted in and it benefits the pilots of USAirways? Will it still be disowned by ALPA?

Let's wait and see....

I am pretty convinced USAPA will win the nmb election, but I think they will fail as a group.

BINGO!
