geeze, you RAH guys sure are sensitive. Did I not post facts? Xjet is not hiring....CHQ is....hmmmmm...yep. Brand new 170's are shiny, yep. You work for less money....yep. Sorry, the truth hurts sometimes I guess. Keep up the tough guy attitude nice next time you ask me for a ride to IAH....better be nice unless you like waiting for the next flight. Better yet get a better contract next time. That's the one area where you actually have my support. Why are you even reading this post anyway? Did I miss something or isn't it about xjet employment?

Dont need a ride. I dont commute. wouldnt ride on your pos smelly planes anyways.

I dont know what is worse. Your smell or ASAs
 
Listen guys, I just flew two 145's for CHQ that were not as shiny as the one's I used to fly at XJT. So what?! Pay and QOL is what matters. I live in base now and we are in contract negotiations for higher pay now, so I feel confident I'm in the right place. BTW, in case you haven't noticed... no company is going to be matched in pay ever. As long as they are in the same ball park and are striving to improve that through negotiations and improve work rules, that's what really matters! Don't think flying the 170 makes you a god and don't jump to conclusions thinking that all of us at CHQ are a**holes, because we are not. Every airline has it's share of retards. Fly safe!

The reason for branded's existence is they chose to do it didn't they? I dont think any twisted their arm.

Unfortunately Kellner is the reason that branded even came into existence. If they didn't pull those planes and then have the nerve to ask for them back, then there never would've been a branded side of ExpressJet.

These days it's all about the cheapest costs. I don't know much cheaper CHQ and Colgan are, but I would guess that they are since Kellner is really sticking it to XJT for whatever reason.
 
The rumor is that even if we had said we would fly the planes for free Kelner still would have pulled them since he wanted to diversify every since prior to contract 04 when we voted to strike. If we had struck, CAL would have gone bankrupt in something like 90 days and have had to shut the doors something like 30 days after that. This was the first chance that he could pull airplanes and he did it. Does it suck for us, yes, but the newest rumor is airplanes coming back to CAL(XR's for EP's 1:2 ratio, 135's being removed, and some other stuff). Is this a good thing for us, could be, we could buy new airplanes(not subject to the CPA restictions) to replace the ones being parked or we could shrink. Who knows.

My advice to those in the pool are to go elsewhere. Who knows when we are going to have another new hire class and upgrades are so slow you will sit reserve for a while. If your in the pool right now in the time that you would go to training, sit reserve, and hold a line here as an FO you could upgrade at a place like TSA, Pinnacle, Mesa, Colgan, Mesaba, Compass, etc...
 
They have to let us know in '09 to pull them in '10. Cal is still on the hook for the lease on these airplanes, they will not/can not let us go down the ********************ter since they are the ones who own the leases. We simply pay them. If we go TU than CAL is responsible for the leases on 247 aircraft.

If XJT had decided not to go branded and to give the airplanes back where would they be right now? They'd still be a large regional in a healthy position. However the branded is now draining money from their pool that is dwindlying. It might not have been the favorite options but XJT would have been better just giving the planes back securing their income from CAL without the loss of branded. Hindsight is 20/20 though.

For what it's worth CHQ was not the cheapest bid for the CAL flying contrary to most people's beliefs. Both PNCL and Mesa underbid us.

Hmmmm. Lose 25% of your company overnight, with the possibility of losing another 25% in three years. Doesn't sound healthy or large to me. XJT did what they thought they had to do to remain viable and competitive.
 
I would like to let you know, having been at both CHQ and XJT, that XJT is a great airline and they have their stuff together. CHQ is a good airline but it seems that the 170/175 is their golden child and the 145 is the redheaded stepchild. It's too bad but oh well. I hope XJT is around for many more years, they deserve to be.
