Got interviews at both coming up. Curious what everyone's opinion is about which is the better place to go.

What makes you think that they will hire a fine outstanding individual like yourself?

AirTran by a mile. They will be able to weather the $110/barrel oil better than Spirit will.

AirTran.

The real question is do you want to check in as Spirit Wings or Citrus?

Whoever you chose, keep all doors open;your F/A today may be your assistant chief pilot tomorrow true story, crazy industry.

As much as it pains me to recommend AirTran, I feel compelled to do so. They know how to keep a pilot group down, but they also know how to make money. Spirit is continually trying to 'find itself' in the airline industry, AirTran knows exactly what niche they fit in.

Orstein is on the board at Spirit. That would be enough to keep me away. Don't forget Bill Franke is also. All you need is Wolf, Gangwal, and Lorenzo, and you would have a Royal Flush.

It really boils down to your taste in chicken. Do you prefer Popeye's or Pollo Tropical?

I'll take my chances with that.

As to the original question:

1) set your sights higher.
2) get hired before asking this question
