Mr. Cool FLOPS pilot with the stupid looking Goat Tee in TPA on 1/25/2008, I just wanted to personally thank you for taking call after call on your cell phone and running your mouth loudly non-stop while everyone else in the room was trying to rest. Learn some manners! Take it outside!

What did he say when you asked him to take the call outside?

You did ask him didn't you?

I am sure you must have since it bothered you so much that you waited a day before you posted your disgust on this board.

While I agree totally that manners are required, so is commonsense.

No, because the confrontation would have just further disturbed the others trying to rest in the pilot lounge. You are correct, common sense should have told him to take it outside. I am not going to confront someone in public over something like that.

By saying it here he is not embarrassed in public. No one on this board will know who he is, but if he reads it, he will.

The next time you see that idiot FLOPS pilot running his mouth disturbing people- slap the sh#t out of him. Not only is he rude, but probably working overtime and not supporting the fight for a better quality of life.

slowjet
and FLOPS dog.

Man up dude. Ask him between one of the calls, if you can talk to him in private..perhaps on the ramp. Politely explain that all the noise is disturbing the others (I know, I get bothered by that too if it is excessive) and walk away.

Personally I do feel that would have been a whole lot more appropriate than slandering him on here. No doubt he was insensitive to others, but you can do better than this yourself.

Hey man, go easy. Just look at the facts:

- He works for FLOPs so he most likely flies a Beechjet (loud and whiney).

- He works for FLOPs so he can't afford a good headset.

He was talking loud because he is going DEAF!

I'm not positive, but I think you might be referring to me. If I offended anyone, I am sincerely sorry. I wish you had said something.

Also, I will apologize for the goatee. No one has ever told me that it looked stupid. Now I know.

Thank you.

Sorry, when a sentence begins like that, I have difficulty respecting your advice.

Really? I thought the important portion of my comment was the CONTENT and not whether or not that happens to coincide with the way you speak.

In any case...the point stands. If you have such a problem that you choose to post on here a day later, grow a pair and talk to the guy yourself...in private (I RESPECT your concern about not confronting him in the midst of other crews.)

Good luck anyway you see it...you can choose to be whoever you want to be.

If it was you, thank you for the apology. As far as the Goattee, that is your fashion choice. You may want to read some warnings on your O2 mask.

Sorry for venting on the board, but I do not normally jump folks in public for non safety related issues.

Good for you Turbo!

Took guts to come on and "man up" it was you and you F-ed up!

We could us a guy like you at Netjets!

Oh yeah.....Lose the Goatee!

Pretty basic manners to take your "private" conversation elswhere.

This situation ended well!

Dude, no question that the guy was being a d***** in his lack of courtesy to the other pilots in the room, but man up, you shouldn't be a p***** about telling him to shut up. You coning on here and saying this will probably never get to him, its more likely its you way of dealing with your own lack of action.

Your mom must be proud of your language skills. Do you read much? He already saw the thread, but you were to busy using your big words to notice that...

For those of you who feel that I should have said something in the lounge, IMHO sometimes it is better not to go with a gut reaction. I happened to be on a contract trip for a Fortune 500 company and I was flying with their Director of Aviation. They are very low key and expect top notch professionalism at all times. I do not feel confronting someone or inviting him outside would have been appropriate at all.

With respect to facial hair on men, in the year 2008, it is most commonly associated with people who don't give a ********************. High and tight is the order of the day if you want a job in aviation. And clean shaven. And NO LONG SIDEBURNS. That's like hyperElvisGay.

Miss cool cheerleader chick from high school. I just wanted to let you know what a tease you were. I took you out to dinner fully expecting to get a little sumthin sumthin. You wore a low cut sweater that really showed your cleavage and you flashed me you panties when you got out of the car. All that and nothing. I mean....what the hell, you little slut! I hope you get run away acne and your ass gets big.

I too can be a dick!

I have two course of action for loud cell phone talkers.

1) If I feel like I can participate in the conversation I'll usually throw in my opinion. For example, I have helped out with directions, investments, corrected people on flight time arrivals etc. You get the idea.
Normally I don't get involved in family related conversations, too personal and may lead to physical contact.
People normally don't want you participating in their conversation and will take it eslewhere.

-or-

2.) I get out my phone and pretend like I'm talking to my mother. "Sorry Mom, I can't hear you. There is a guy talking really loud on his cell phone". "Excuse me sir, I'm talking to my mom and she is having breathing problems, could you talk quieter so I can hear her?"

Most people are so engrossed in their little world they don't realize what a jerk they are.
