Congrats and welcome to Netjets!!! From what I have heard, you are one of the few that got hired.... For all those who have interviews coming up, I would recommend that you make sure you are well prepared for the interview as if you were being interviewed by a Majors.... The days of getting hired based on your heartbeat I think is over....

Great job! The G200 is a great airplane and you will get a good mix of short haul and long-haul flying. Plus, you get a wider and more ergonomic flight deck for those longer flights (certainly wider than the X and Sovereign flight decks).

I was given a choice of 5 airplanes...if I recall. I was pretty excited..so my memory is a bit skewed.

Hawker 800XP
Sovereign
G200

I hope to hear from the others in the class and hope they had shared success. There were some good folks in there.

I would love to put some gouge on there but from what we were told, things are a changing...

Lots of customer service scenarios...and they were tough on me. A few tech questions..some I did not know because of my background but no excuse NOT to know them.

The current gouge is good so start there. Be yourself, think OUTSIDE of the box and DO NOT SWEAT THE SIM! The sim was a breeze...a bit twitchy but a breeze...IMHO.

It is a CLASS act all the way...it is almost too good to be true! Great folks..very helpful! DM is a really smart lady with great SA about the industry.

I am from Coex.....it will tough to leave...honestly. great company, great management and a great co-workers.

I interviewed on Dec. 12,13. You must have taken up the last G-200 spot, I got offered the other aircraft and took the Sovereign.

Was a great group of people I interviewed with, very competitive! Not really sure who else got hired, haven't kept in contact with anybody-would be curious to know, though.

After you stop jumping up and down, you calmly tell linda the airplane you would like.. I think they expect you to know what your choice is when they call.
after the interview i wrote down a list in order of preference, so if they did call i didn't look like a complete maroon!cheers:beer:

That's interesting to hear that the Encore+ is being offered to new-hires. I figured it would have to start soon.

They fly both XL/XLS

The XLS+ come on line in 2008 but will be a separate fleet.

As Mach92 said, yes, you'll fly the XL and XLS interchangeably. They're very similar; the XLS has some improvements to the cabin fixtures, a couple of knobs and switches are a little different, and it runs a slightly newer version of the Honeywell Primus avionics.

The XLS+ will be based on the Collins Proline 21 avionics, and that will make it different enough to operate it as a separate fleet. (We do the same thing with our Hawker 800 fleet; the Collins-based ones are operated with different crews.)

The difference between the Honeywell and the Rockwell Collins avionics is quite large. To me, it's surprising that the FAA allows a common type rating between the Encore and the Encore+ given how different the avionics work along with the FADEC and even different memory items.

I think it's good that NJA is treating the "+" planes as a separate fleet.

Great job on the XL/XLS - a nice airplane from what I hear (plus you get an APU whereas the Encore does not have an APU).

I hear the Encore fleet does not fly much - although I guess it depends on the time of year. I have a buddy on the Encore out of TEB and he spends a lot of time sitting around or not flying. The Excel will be the opposite end of the spectrum and you will fly a lot because it is the biggest fleet. If you like flying a lot you will get your wish on the XL/XLS. Enjoy!

I have also heard great things about the Sovereign. Very powerful - nice performer. It's like an XL on steriods. I think the Sovereign fleet is getting busier because it is a popular aircraft among owners and it is very versatile. You will do transcons on the Sovereign as well but not as many as the Citation X.

The Hawker 800XP-C (Collins equipped) would have also been a great choice if you were offered that type specifically - nice Pro Line 21 system up front and not the busiest fleet out there either.. I hear that Captain bid for that aircraft type went senior - that should tell you something about how pilots perceive that fleet.

I'll never forget when I got the call from Derinda. It was mid January, and I had just gotten done preflighting a Chautauqua EMB-145 in ROC, gone inside and fired up the APU. I started copying the clearance and my phone started ringing. I picked it up and it was some weird 614 number. I thought for a second (early morning) WTF is a 614 area code?? OH YEAH! thats Ohio! So I answer it a second before it would have gone to voicemail and get the job offer. Congrats to all who got hired.
