So whats life like at VA guys/gals. What are they telling you these days regarding growth? How are the loads? Are you making money yet? I've heard that the pilots don't like the uniforms.

Just trying to get a sense of what is happening over there. I live in the Bay area, so its close to home.........which is why I'm curious.

That's what I'd focus on, the uniforms. I was going to apply, but once I saw a picture of the uniform, I knew there was no way I could wear my frosted tips and Ipod and still look cool.

I took two minutes and SEARCHED APC and the Virgin website and got a ton of great information.

I was on the hotel van with a virgin crew the other day in LAX. The captain said they are starting to implement PBS and he was hoping it would be a huge improvement over their current scheduling system. Apparently, the company can change days off at will and you are basically on call at all times.

Don't shoot me if this is not accurate, just repeating was a VA crewmember told me. If pref bid is a huge improvement, then the current system must really suk. PBS with a rock solid contract could possibly be a good thing. PBS with no contract at all will be a total nightmare.

Yeah , because you get a lot of good info from THEIR website. Thats would I would focus on. No koolaid there, no sir. Inputs from actual employees are of no use at all.

I did. It's called a ROUTEMAP. I didn't say I read any of the kool-aid releases.
Here's another tip, employees at a privately held company are told crap, even flat out lied to, much more so than publically traded companies. So when you take an employees word, it's sometimes no better than the crap releases they put out. Search airline pilot central, like I had said. BTW-I'm not really sorry about beating on your posts, because at 6700 hours, I'd expect you to be a little more 'with it'.

Check their website for a routemap? Why didn't I think of that!

Don't believe or trust the employees to figure out the "crap" from the facts, why didn't I think of that.

Check pilot central. WOW, another good idea!

Your right, I'm just not "with it."

Thanks for the lack of sarcasm. Thats the kind of stuff I'm looking for.

Any word on where/when an east-coast base will open? I have heard JFK or IAD?

It won't be JFK since JFK awarded there gates for the next 5 years and VA only got 5 gates. But I have heard that IAD is a very good Possibility

I don't think JFK awarded any gates. They did award peak slots though. If VA only got 5 peak slots that shuts them out of any big NY plans.
