Does anyone have any info regarding when B6's next open house is? I know its in Orlando but where in Orlando is it at? Thank you

Not sure, but for what it's worth it seems they have one about every 2 months. The last was Nov. 15., start checking early January.

The open houses are held in the MCO Training Ctr on the airport property. There is a JB bus that provides transport from the Airport itself.

thanx guys. I have been trying to apply online but I the website doesnt appear to be working. I thought it was my computer (a Mac) but I tried my fiance's PC and it still didnt work.

Any chance of FLL for new-hires, anymore?

Maybe not right away, but most likely within a few months if you get the bus. No 190 base in FLL at this point. You might have to do a few months reserve in JFK. Its really not to bad with the long call system. Good Luck!

To be safe, anyone under the age of 35 looking to work here who really wants FLL/LGB should expect to wait two years. The reason being that the E190 does not base in those cities, there is a two year aircraft lock, and initial aircraft is bid on by seniority when you arrive for class. The 190 typically goes junior.

That is as things currently stand now, anyhow. Who knows what the future will hold!

Ill be very junior. Im 27 so ill be forced to the bottom of the barel. I live in NYC so JFK is my first choice. I was told that if you get the 190 you can wait for the bus class to open but it will take longer. Has anybody heard of this? I was adviced by a former B6 pilots that if I get the 190 to turn down the job but if I get the Bus to stick around. What do you guys suggest?

Turn down the job if you get the 190? IMO, I see no rational for doing this.

1. First year pay is the same on the Airbus vs. 190.
2. Second year pay is a difference of about 7k per year. Averaged over 2 yrs, 3.5k per year.
3. After 2 years your lock is up, then go to the Airbus or upgrade in the 190 (maybe).

Get on the property, things change you never know what will happen in the future.

Donvag, that is not the case anymore. You are assigned a class date, and you bid for your seat within the class. Or you might get a 190 only class or a 320 only class.

You won't think that's such good advice when the furloughs come and you're kicked off property while the class you COULD HAVE been in remains.

You've got airline time, you should no better than to purposely give up seniority.

Good luck.
