You get pissed when the company screws up and you get pissed when the company tries to fix it. WTF do you want? The company has to train its pilots. Why should they pay you a full month's pay for sitting home doing nothing while at the same time paying the IOE guy?? From what you've said, the worst that happens to you is that you get to sit at home and wait for the phone to ring while collecting your minimum guarantee. If that is suffering, I'll take 12 months of it.

Don't think the company is trying to make things right. They will do whatever they can to save $$$. And this is how it is done. Keep F/O's in their current position as long as possible. 2 or 3 year J4J's are cheaper then 5 or 6 year F/O's upgrading. So the company held off as long as they could, or at least they were dragging their feet. To save money.
It helps them and in turn hurts us. Don't think for a second that anyone is going to be sitting at home for a month and get paid for it. They will offer leave first. This company will not spend $3 more to get us better hotels. They will never ever pay us to sit at home.

can we start this havoc stuff at pdt, it sounds like a great time!?! or at least a sick out or something......

I second this motion. Although, being just an FO I won't be able to do much. Good luck convincing some of the SYR CAs to slow the taxi down to a walking pace. Same with the sick out, most like to bank their time. Look at the 6 month no sick call lists, we have a ton of guys on there. Plus,we always fudge times for better pay. If we called it correctly to the minute every time, late departures would sky rocket due to late bags/pax. The ontime stats would plummet. 1/3 of the CAs don't even care about small maintenance items either. (before anyone yells, this is my fault too for not standing up more. it's just a light/bs item that is not safety related.) They would still take time to write up and bring mx to an outstation to sign off. I say all this about SYR, but it is my experience the CAs in the south are even more company boys that don't care and are in a hurry just to get the job done and go home. I don't see any of these happening at PDT anytime soon.

son of a..... way to steal my thunder! ya i know what you're saying. a lot of old timers that just want to get home and get it over with. it'll all be over soon and we won't have to worry about it anymore....

... I don't see any of these happening at PDT anytime soon.

The only time most PDT pilots have any balls is behind their keyboard, just look at the lav wall. Now if the havoc program involved writing anonymous slurs towards people and saying things they'd never say to anyone in person, it would see great success at PDT!

to reignite this thread...
got word from one of our union reps that mainline just hired off the street yesterday, they're now officially filling a Nov. 5th class and putting guys off the street on their seniority list ahead of us wholly owned...I believe there will be some attempt at an organized slowdown or something in the near future over this...anyone heard anything else?

Do your jobs. I hear that if you need it some of our out stations have very capable contract mechanics.

I quit PDT a few months ago and got a check in the mail this past week for $0.00 Thats right. $0.00!

Can any of yall explain that one???

Not that I was expecting them to send any money my way (I was way into the red figures as far as my sick bank went), but really...a check for $0.00??!! And these people paid postage for that?

That check will get some face time on the refrigerator for sh i ts and giggles.

It's not the god damn company's fault that AAA won't show up to any god damn meetings. Any lawsuit we file will be a COMPLETE waste of god damn money. Any effective work action will cost us our god damn money. God damn....

I think I just woke everyone up around me from laughing out loud...your rant reminds me of the football coach from 'not another teen movie'... I think thats the name of it.

I'm not saying i'd agree with any action, just passing along what i was told... i think the idea of any slowdown action is that although its not pdt's fault about the meetings, we do get to screw mainline by screwing ourselves since we're their sub...
and even though that lawsuit would be a waste of money, we already have the money for that purpose, and we (the pilots who funded that lawsuit money) aren't getting any of it back, so I figured we might as well do what it's meant for, our money's gone anyway...not that it would do any good.

So, are you saying we shouldn't file a lawsuit or just ranting cause you can? If we shouldn't and we don't get a flow through, have any other suggestions or should PDT just rot in hell bent over for everyone else's enjoyment?

Aren't we automatically filing the lawsuit on the first day of class with street pilots or are we gonna try to still work it out peacefully on our own?

d328pilot,

Like I said, I wasn't expecting any more than that, but come on...I'm floored that anyone would pay postage and print off a check for $0.00. I'm not surprised I'm the only thats gotten one of those. I had a pay credit my last month of 100 hrs roughly, including a final junior man to cap out for the year. Still glad I didn't take the double premium pay for that trip that was offered initially. I still would have lost out on that (unwritten stipulation concerning double/triple/quadruple premium pay)...I called in sick for my last two trips while still employed there. F*ck 'em

As stated before, as nice as that premium pay bullsh|t sounds, take the Junior Mans and get capped out, then name your price to scheduling!

I'm not trying to criticize anyone who wants to file suit, I'm just saying it can't help fix the current holdup in the flow. Of course we are getting flow, but the LOA specifically says we must have all unions agree. AAA might come back to the table tomorrow or, at the most extreme, we wait till they are de-certified. In any case a lawsuit is just antagonism, when this is the ONE problem that isn't actually the fault of Tempe for the time being.

We should save the money to protect our ass for a more dire problem like a strike, contract negotiations, or illegal work action lawsuit.
