Sounds as if you need a union.

We just happen to have one. So far they've done... nothing BUT, a union is what the membership makes it. Right?

From this point forward I will refer to a "union" as an "onion" for obvious reasons.

Isn't that something???

I thought the norm was that the dreams of enjoying an aviation career will be lost without one.

How is it possible for anyone to achieve their ultimate goals without self-interested outside representation?

You're kidding, right?

How is it possible for anyone to achieve their ultimate goals without self-interested outside representation?

Gee, I don't know. I know this will be difficult for some hardcore onion people to swallow but maybe a concerned workgroup can actually work with management without a third "self-interested" group and make improvements and set work rules themselves. I know it's a novel concept. Maybe, just maybe, 32 dispatchers could make this crazy idea work.

I still have no idea to this day why it was voted in. I never heard one good reason other than "we'll have work rules". Like I've been screaming for about a year now, we already had that.

I know this is another absolutely psychotic, unrealistic concept but if you didn't perform your job to set standards, you were either demoted or fired.

Imagine that?

A demotion to Central Load Control?

I think I've explained my opinion on this before. The dispatchers getting CLC was a kneejerk reaction by a group of "managers" with dollar signs for eyeballs. They could dump the job on us and not have to give us a raise and eliminate 8 to 10 full time positions from the budget. The dummies who voted for the onion are the idiots to thank for this extra work.

Quote from senior manager one day: "It's just autoclose, right?" Well, no, it's just a wee bit more involved than what you see on a sheet of paper, chief.

HASBEEN, who the hell are you anyway?
