I have an interview with Piedmont tomorrow Friday 13 in charlotte. Anyone else going?
Has anyone been to the other interviews this week?
If so can you share your experience?

thanks,
David

PM Me if you are going to the friday interview

Mines the 17th, got my packet this morning. I got a 43 question study guide that supposedly is 43 of the 50 questions on the test. PM me your email address if you want it.

Check out aviationinterviews.com for what to expect in the sim ride, apparently thats pretty accurate.

Im puttin in 2-3 hours at the tutor lab every night to brush up. Good luck!

my times currently are 346TT and 62 multi, included in that is 50 hours sim time.

Piedmont is the highest paying regional, they also got awards for teamwork by the faa.
I like thier crew bases, you can afford to live near them.

No Im 360/18. The pay is better than any other regional, including the 5000 dollar bonus first year.

I have an old friend there and he loves the Dash.

Not as glamorous to the public to fly, but I'm sure I will like it. Many pilots would rather fly the Dash than the shiny jets they are in, for one reason or another, so I consider myself lucky.

Can't wait to see where this one goes...

Yea.. me too!!! I guess when I finish my trip tonight I'll make me a nice big glass of bourbon on the rocks and come up upstairs and start reading!! Lets see, 12:25 Eastern..... The bashing should continue anytime now!

Anyway.. good luck to all you folks interviewing!!!

Are you crazy??? What the hell is an award for teamwork? you might as well throw in the maintenance awards they won also..... Oh yeah, by the way, they are a wholly owned too! like that makes a difference! Do some more research!:smash:

ahahaha, well I guess I had the same feelings when I started there years ago. I even defended the place for a while. I also used to make fun of jets. See how long it lasts for you guys, hey after a year and the 5000, you can come apply here at skyw.

then he can take that $5000 bonus with him over to skywest so he can afford to live on the first year pay over there! just kidding!:)

Folks every airline is a crap shot! Those that are on top today, could be on the bottom in 2-3 years.

Its all good! Piedmont is a gamble no doubt. And right now I can honestly say its pretty bad right now! But it sure isn't the worst airline by far! Great bunch of pilots, FA's (atleast in EWN)!

Hahahha, they're increasing the hiring pool by giving out the answers?!?! Man, first they tried to dumb down the test, now this... If asked, just lie and say you got screwed out of the bonus when you get in your base...

kf4amu, sent you a pm, my interview also is on the 17th.

Surf,
What are you talking about? It's been a few weeks and I have not heard anything. Bashing about what? Union? Mgt? What happened to Mason? Too good for the job?
Keep smiling,
Fly

cant remember the exact starting number, at least 10, maybe 11....only 4 made it. only 2 failed the written, don't know what happened with the rest.

Just out of curiousity, what did those of you made it do before getting hired? fresh Com ME, CFI, build up hours for fun, cargo? and how many total actual airplane hours do you have? actual instrument? multiengine? I'm not degrading you at all, just wondering. When I got hired 2 years ago, built up my time flying random hours for fun around IN in a 152. I had the low end of the scale at 500/25 with <15 actual instruments. Wondering what is competitive at PDT nowadays. Thanks.

Now that's funny.

Competitive? Walk erect with a COM/ME ticket, don't say something stupid during the interview and you should leave with a class date.

I talked with a SOE captain last week and his F/O had less than 400 hours. I believe that the F/O said 1 student in their class had less than 300 hours.

Most in my interview group had around 500 or less. 1 was in the 200s. The guy with 1000 hours got sent home, but I could tell from the minute he walked into the building he wasnt gonna make it. Looked like he had a toupee on, swaggered in like he owned the place, found out the rest of us were waiting for the interview as well (in suits) so he "instructs" the security guard to wait while he goes outside to his car and gets his blazer to wear, to match his khaki pants and worn brown leather "dress shoes". Didnt interact with anybody, just stood around as if it was a formality he had to go through this process.

He failed the written.

Yea, I know that guy. John claimed he missed over 50% of the questions on the test. The guy claimed he flew instruments as well as taught it for 8 years.

Maybe they should of just asked him to leave. I looked at my answer sheet, and was told I missed over 50% on the test also. I looked at my answer sheet, and saw even correct answers marked wrong.

Example? You ask? Okay what is an inverter? Converts dc to ac. A thunderstorm that is hidden is ?
Embedded Thunderstorm

and the kickers, what does a changeover point and when would you change to another vor frequency?

By that double "L" looking thing. which vor has dme?

You can see that with the "D" in the box. It was claimed I even got those wrong.

I was disgusted When John told me that, I just shook my head and didn't look back.

So for me, a little more flying in the Shorts360, build my time to what my company needs, then the fun begins!!

Was it a multiple choice test? Is there a chance there was another answer to those questions that was "more correct"? They like trick questions.
