Hello,
It is very unfortunate that management is resorting to the kind of tactics they are becoming involved with. Specifically, management's response to the NMB to invalidate the authorization card filing by citing fraud and coercion on the part of the ALPA OC. However, this is to be expected. Colgan (Pinnacle) does not want a unionized pilot group and is going to fight tooth and nail to prevent it. Even after ALPA is on the Colgan property I expect the same treatment they have given our fellow pilots at Pinnacle Airlines.
However, in the meantime the Colgan pilots will CONTINUE to bust their collective a**es flying with a high level of skill and dedication that is expected of a PROFESSIONAL. After all, isn't that we are and expected to be treated and compensated as? As for any rumors of shinanegans by the training department I cannot cite a single example in the Beech 1900 fleet. Nor will I personally stand for it. I will QUIT CJC before I am EVER asked to resort to using a training event for any kind of managment "activism". I don't think that is something that the airline can afford to do operationally or as a business. We face SERIOUS manpower shortages and cannot afford to loose any experienced Captains at this airline and operate with a high-level of safety.
Finally, VOTE...whether it's YES or NO. Vote and let the chips fall where they may, but stand-up for your opinion good, bad or indifferent. ALPA isn't the only choice, you may write in a different union. It's the privilege you have earned as a Colgan Air pilot to vote.
Best of luck to all of you out there and keep flying safely, on schedule and at the best of your ability every single time you push the power levers up.

Regards,

Ex-Navy Rotorhead
