From the Seattle Post Intelligence

Steve Udvar-Hazy, founder and CEO of International Lease Finance Corp. and the biggest customer for the Dreamliner, was eager to see it.

"Even if you buy 74, you don't get a peek before you guys," he said to a small group of journalists before the 3:30 p.m. ceremony started.

Hazy disclosed that he has a meeting Monday in Atlanta with Delta Air Lines. Delta's new CEO recently said that it might order as many as 100 Dreamliners.

Hazy said smaller airlines, such as Germany's Air Berlin -- which announced Saturday an order for 25 787-8s -- are now trying to get in line to buy 787s to get delivery slots before some of the large U.S. legacy carriers such as Delta and American decide to order the Dreamliner in large numbers. Continental and Northwest are the only U.S. airlines so far to have ordered the Dreamliner.

OK, enough drama. I'm the new CEO.

There will be a ceremony in ATL today much like the 787 ceremony in Everett.

Unlike Boeing, we didn't have it in the budget to have a theme song for my return, so we will just be plaing the Imperial Stormtrooper music when I march out on stage (behind bulletproof glass).

Paycuts for everyone!

You are about as entertaining as "Instructor Dude".

As long as you don't make them go to AMA or LBB, and you let them fly "BIG" jets, I'm sure you'll have no trouble getting the pilots to agree to another round of paycuts........

Hi General,

Who is the choice up for the CEO position ?

Just wondering if Richard Anderson is the winner .

Inquiring minds want to know...

He is on the board of directors, and from what I have heard he was fairly well respected at Northwest. I think it will be between him and Jim Whitehurst who is the COO at DL. He is a younger guy (39) who is a good speaker and could rally the troops. I hope Ed Bastian (the CFO) does not get the position, since he slammed the pilots in the BK hearings. He is a good CFO, and that is where he should stay.

That may be true, and if we do it may take awhile to get them unless they get them through ILFC (a lessor who talked with Delta in the beginning of this post). No orders as of yet, probably looking for the right price. There are other types of planes that are used that could be purchased in the mean time that will give mainline a lift if they are.

I honestly hope we never ever ever go to those places again, but if we do, we will relegate those routes to RJs hopefully. As far as paycuts go, I doubt that, and I think we will be profitable thanks to Southwest raising fares $10 today. Thanks orange guys!
