That was hysterical. I guess you didn't even care to read that I used to fly 747s (for Tower, now gone), and now I fly a Lear 45 for a very rich man in Boca Raton. I bet I now stay at nicer hotels than you do (on his dime, and I also manage the Lear so I pick and choose where we stay) and I get to go to nicer cities. (Aspen, Vail, St Lucia, etc) You don't seem to look at the fine print anywhere, and you seem very defensive since you took a swipe at my daughter, even though I don't have one. Typical cocky SW pilot. Shoot from the hip partner! (Dumb a%$)

translation...

"I flew beat up, junker 74's for a super dirt bag operator that the FAA shut down, now I fly for Big Daddy War Bucks in his shiny new Lear so you dumb dumb heads in your dirty old 737's should listen to me cuz I know everything about world travel & fancy wines & hotels & keeping the bubbly chilled for the man while we fly him to the yacht".

that about covers it.

Another cocky Southwest pilot response. You are embarassing yourself and other corndogs. translation of your response....

"Gosh, I really am a god. I fly orange or purple guppies and will forever, with as many as 6 legs a day to places that really don't interest me. Why would I ever want to layover in Munich, when I could go to Columbus, OH? I think I am above everyone else, even though I fly some of the poorest people in the country around for peanuts and they hear plenty of gufaws from hilarious flight attendant PA's. I get to wear a leather jacket, just like many regional pilots wear, and fly almost the same number of legs per day. I will never get tired of quick turns, even when I have been doing this for 20 years. I sure will be rich, even though I am a flying a tadpole in an aquarium full of sharks, I won't care because I am rich and that is all that matters. I used to fly a C-5A, so that means I never want to see Europe or anywhere tropical again, I don't need to, I have already done it in a green jumpseuit that made me look like Maverick. Lubbock is fun, and Midland is second to none. I can't wait for my next Boise layover, or maybe Omaha. I may even take off my pants in the cockpit with the captain, and we will compare moles while waiting for the new flight attendants to come up and take pictures with their cell phones. I really am a god."

Don't forget keeping the ice bucket full, and making sure all the dates are okay on the coke's. The pay, the schedule, the uncertainty of when the guy sell's the jet, ect, ect. There are ton's of folks at SWA who have had that job, so put it to rest Heavy.

Really though, it's the same character's on every thread. They are like stalkers. This thread was chugging along, and then GL shows up with the LBB stuff again. Just ignore the guy.

I gladly turned down a 747-400 job offer to come to SWA, and I know plenty of guys (and girls) here who flew heavies international, and not just for freight carriers.

Unless you are flying for UPS or Fedex, the other freight dog companies do not compare to legacies. Those other carriers have 17 days out and don't pay well at all, and often leave you in undesirable places for 4-5 days a time until the next 747 comes through. I doubt that happens at the legacy carriers. Remember that many Southwest pilots left Southwest for United in the late 90s, and were ofcourse furloughed after 9-11. They left for some reason, and some were Captains at Southwest.

I am paid pretty well to manage the jet and fly it. I schedule the other pilots and give myself the best trips. The owner doesn't like fractional flying because he personally designed the interior of this Lear, and he is actually thinking of something a bit bigger, like a Challenger 300 or a Falcon 2000. The pay is very good with all of the benies. (although I did have to fly on Xmas--to Vail, and my wife and kid were airlined out on the boss and we all stayed in a very nice hotel)

All right, I started this mess please let me finish it. Heavy, I apologize. I was just trying to get under your skin a little. Lighten up, or don't. However, it was all in fun and it got outta control. Let's all get back to something more fun.

Bake

Heavy,

Dude, you should inquire about anger mgmt classes. We're all so sorry you lost your "worldy" 747 job. I think most of us would rather be at home with our families than romancing the fine wine list in Europe and South America. Oh and, obviously you never got any pu#$y in Lubbock did you? You go ahead and run over to Europe. I hear the women are cheap in Amsterdam

Your name and picture on your avatar just don't fit, and someday you will figure that out. Really, after 6 legs in one day, you will change your name to sleep time. At LAX, you are really considered Small Time. But wait, maybe your name does fit in Lubbock. You should go there as much as you can, because those girls probably do think you are big time, in Lubbock. And, I love my new job, and since I manage the plane and fly it, I get plenty of time with my family, probably get paid as much or more than you do, and get to go to interesting places like Vail and Cancun. But, you already knew that....

It seems like the General gives reasons why he and probably others would not want to fly for Southwest, and you guys can't believe it. To you, you are gods in your own religion and you want everyone to follow you. Not everyone wants to fly for Southwest, and people on this board may agree with him. I don't believe I have ever seen the General attack someone without being attacked first. If you think someone not liking your style of flying is attacking you, then you need to toughen up a bit. And did you see Bake's response to my posts? That is a typical Southwest cocky response, but you don't address that here do you? What a crock.

Kind of sensitive, are we? You make quite an assumption based on a single sentence response.

I have no problem with anyone who thinks SWA is not their cup of tea. If you would take a few moments and read GLs past diatribes of how bad the work environment is at SWA, maybe you would understand. He obviously has no clue as to the work environment at SWA, and seems to make things up to bolster his opinion.

I interact nearly weekly with pilots at other carriers on both professional and social levels. They get to do some things that I am envious of and they seem to respect the environment we have here. There are many good and great jobs out there. It is a matter of personal preference as to what is best for each of us.

"...and give myself the best trips." That's mighty nice of you.

"he is thinking of something a bit bigger..." Did you tell him you used to fly 747's? I'm sure you could find a nice Classic real cheap.

So what happens to your dream when boss man decides to pull the rug out and sell the plane to buy a fractional DA-2000 or CL300 until the delivery of a new aircraft in 3 years? Ain't too many used for sale. Also, I am sure the wife was happy to be in a hotel room with the kids during Christmas half way across the country. LOL........

CHRIST ALMIGHTY!

Who cares who flies what and where? Noone is better than anyone else. If someone wants to overnight in Lubbock and they are happy flying a 737, who cares? If someone wants to fly a 747 to Europe and they are happy doing that, who cares? We are all in this together for the love of Jesus!

My balls are bigger than your balls.......Christ people!

Even capt. megadeth is sick of this crap......

I love you mega, even though you do wear brown sweater vest's...:pimp: Well said.

Where is the SWA/FO? What does he have to say about all this?

Maybe he is floating in his pool or maybe he is recovering from the 13 inning game that the Detroit Tigers just played against the Boston Red Soxs.....maybe both. Which Boston got their a$$es kicked. I know he is very smart and hip to the current trends within our industry, he will be around shortly. He is one hansome, smart and funny dude.

We all await his next post, unlike the General Lee.

No doubt. I just thought this needed to be said again. Oh and for the record, I am the bearer of the biggest pair on this board.

GL is pacing himself. Trying to find the perfect time to hit post 9000. About 50 to go. Rumor has it that at post 9001, you get permanetly locked out of FI.
