Why the hell would you even consider Mesa? Every regional is dying for pilots right now, pick your top ones and apply there, but stay FAR, FAR away from Mesa...it's for your own good.

Does anyone know if Mesa would hire me with 913TT/13ME? Or any other airline! Thanks:beer:

Probably. And you'll likely have your answer within a couple of days if you submit your stuff (assuming you're hired, anyway . . . if not, you'll never get an answer)

No, I'm not kidding. They're giving lots of extra sim sessions and up to 80+ hours of IOE (20-25 is normal). This used to be unheard of. But it's a brave new world . . . . and especially challenging for Captains.

If you come on board, be sure to look at as free training for your next regional. Get those apps in after working at Mesa for 6 months.

I'm betting they would, but what are your career goals? Are you single/married? Are you looking to build some quick time and move on somewhere else quickly? Are QOL and $$$ big issues right now? All these things need to be considered....

What situation are you in now? Do you have your MEI? Any access to a bunch of multi time in the next few months? If not, I would consider Eagle, Pinnacle, Mesa, etc - but if you do have access to some ME time, I would tough it out for the next few months until you get 1000/100. Right now, it's probably real tempting to take any regional job out there, but it would be a benefit to stick it out, get some more time to get somewhere you really want to be and stay there for a while if you need to. I did, and I'm REAL glad I did.

Different stokes for different folks... let us know what your plans are and you will probably get some more advice....

13......is that more or less than 13.5? b/c being able to round up to 14 would really seal the deal. If you're at 13.4 go pay $26 to go taxi for 3 minutes and log it.

Seriously, let me sum up mesa for you. You make 10k less a year for doing the same thing, you'll have at least 2 less days off a month, if a roundtrip cancels you get nothing, and if it takes 2 hours extra to fly a leg cuz of delays-for those two hours you are paid 1/5th of what someone new at McDonald's is paid.

Oh, and there's minimal respect from all other pilot groups. Any other place except for Gojets and Great lakes is better.

Stay away from Mesa.. Everyone is hiring, go somewhere worthwhile.

Don't you think you're a little over qualified for a company like Mesa. No offense, but why not XJT CHTQ or SKW? If people quit going there, maybe the pilots already on property could have a shot at getting a better contract. As pilots, we need to help eachother by not going to companies that treat employees like crap. JO will NOT NOT NOT..... pay his pilots more if he has a stack of resumes standing by!!

wow

Hey-

I have some really good friends flying at Mesa and they are just MISERABLE. Not just a bad day here & there: EXTREMELY angry with their work conditions, borderline depressed and tired of Mesa upper management's treatment of their pilot workforce. A lot of pilots are jumping the sinking Mesa ship, why be a part of it.

I agree with most of the previous posts on this topic: build up as much multi time as you can and go somewhere decent. Mesa is a hard life, coupled with a CEO who doesn't care about QOL for his frontline staff while he adds another million dollar home & motorcycle to his collection...it's better to go elsewhere. You're worth a better job, and you're not that far away from having the minimums to have it.

Everyone is hiring! :)

Actually I have a lot of respect for the pilots at mesa......It's an impressive feat to deal with the crap they get handed to them without losing their minds......same goes to the guys at Great Lakes.....

No SJS

Hey folks thanks for the advise! I just thought Mesa would be a better place for me to go with my kind of time, then going to TSA or PSA. As for getting some more ME time. Its getting harder and harder to pay for the time. Trust me I would love to hold out for the better job and I am doing my best to hold out. Also me wanting to go to MESA does not mean I have SJS!!

I'm sure we all remember the days when we knew our Total and Multi times down to the 10th of an hour.

"I've got 1145 Total and 118 Multi. How about you?"
"Well, I've got 923 Total and 67 Multi."

When I was at TSA, I told myself on a daily basis, "Well, it could be worse, I could be at Mesa." Do not go anywhere that doesn't have block or better

Yeah, it's kinda like respecting the sewer cleaner.

You respect him for doing a necessar job that requires him to shovel a lot of sh!!!, but you don't exactly want to be him so you can also get that same respect.

Having previously worked at Mesa, I can say without reservation - DO NOT GO TO MESA. :) The people you will work with at Mesa are great and that is even changing. The good people that were there are making laterals moves and normal upward progression. However, the idiots running the management side of the house are definitely NOT looking out of you. They will manipulate anything they can to get you to fly. Personally, I see Mesa losing a codeshare, growing a chinese operation and leaving Hawaii with their tail between their legs. REPEAT - DO NOT GO TO MESA!!!

Here's an idea. Why don't you actually work hard, pay your dues and then eventually get on the path to a regional and then a major? It took me a long time but I made and you can as well. When I got hired flying piston freight, I had 1800/44 (1995). I flew a Bonanza for a year and then got an upgrade to a Baron where I finally logged all the multi-engine time I could get. When I got hired at Mesa, I had 3300/450 (1996). When I got hired by FedEx I had 8900/6000 (2006).

Many in my new hire class had between 4500 and 6500. Obviously they were on a faster track and you could be as well. However, don't be afraid to pay your dues. Don't look for a fast way to a jet....build some time and experience; you'll thank me in the long run.

87 pilots quit last month....87 FREAKING PILOTS QUIT!!!!
5% Attrition on a monthly basis, with no sign that it's slowing down.

JRA's, REA's, Lying about cancellation coding so we don't get paid (and they don't have to tell the codeshares the real problem), bonus program that promotes flying sick and with broken airplanes....this dosen't even begin to approach the problem that's coming in November... when you build 90 hour bid lines (all lines are at 90+ hours, 13 bids a year), what do you think is going to happen in November? Can we all say "operational meltdown"?
