The LAX flying is Delta????
The ONT flying is branded????

I'm confused, someone please set me straight.
Also: What routes are being flown out of LAX? Are they different than what's being flown out of ONT?

Thanks! :)

LAX and ONT are two separate bases. If you're LAX-based, you'll fly Delta stuff. If you're in ONT, you'll fly the branded. Out of LAX we serve several places in Mexico, as well as SFO, LAS, RNO, PDX, SEA, SLC, DEN, FCA. I'm not sure of all of them off the top of my head, but it's fairly big.

That is, if you are not on reserve. I'd expect a few reserve guys to be doing some kind of LAX-ONT or ONT-LAX shuffle via ground deadhead, or something else.

Add EUG to that list as well.

But....

How far do the flight benefits extend?
If you're ExpressJet, do you/dependants get only ExpressJet flight benefits, or do you also get Continental & Delta? Some? Both?

The company page is VERY vague about just about, well....EVERYTHING! :D

Thanks!

Good questions. No one really knows what'll happen with the pass travel agreements. As far as I know, the ExpressJet branded pilots still get full pass travel on CAL with date of hire boarding priority on the same level as CAL employees. Rumor has it that CAL employees will enjoy the same priveleges on XJT branded flights, with DOH boarding. It's only fair.

And last question:

Where is the best base if you want to commute from SAN (San Diego)? :)

If you want to commute, SAN-LAX is a no-brainer. You've got a lot of options there. Also, for the Delta flying, add YVR to the list of destinations, plus a ton of Mexican airports. Best of luck if you decide to head over here.

san-lax is a narly commute......even skywest guys can't get on those flights half the time....even though its frequent they are instructed to move passengers up to the first flight. ie, passenger checks in early for the 10:30 am flight, if there is a seat, they'll go out on the 10;01 am flight...especially during cruise season

What about Eagle's 17 SAN-LAX flights a day?

We also serve SMF, SJC, OAK, BOI, GEG out of LAX. I'm on reserve and did the LAX/ONT shuffle last week. I also tried jumpseating on Skywest and Eagle last week SAN-LAX. Got denied the Skywest flight but grabbed the Eagle flight that departed 10 minutes later.

Had a SKW crew DH on a FAT - LAX (Eagle) flight last week. Apparently they got bumped for early pax and couldn't wait for their next departure. Seems like a good way to waste money on DHs to me. Can anyone explain the logic...
