Captain pay to sit right seat. 35 hrs of x1.5 on top of 37.5 guarantee plus holiday pay

After I posted that, I sorta figured that must be the case. You threw me with the "make that much in one paycheck for sitting in the right seat" thing. Regardless, if the powers that be want to run so short staffed as to pay captains time and a half to fly as FO's, let 'em. Do something fun with the money.

Im not sure where some of you Skywest people come up with your numbers.

I flew for Skywest for 4 years, from 99 to 03.

I made 62 an hour as an RJ Cap for my last year, 03, (assuming I would have flown all 12 months before quitting) I would have made about 65 K. I do not count per diem (you are not supposed to, it is supposed to be spent on your trips), and I NEVER, EVER flew extra (why the F*UCK would anyone??)

These guys saying "I'm a Skywest RJ captain and i made six figures!!", well, I was too, for 4 years, and NEVER came even close to that.

For those of us who aren't complete whores who say "Yeah!! I'd LOVE to fly on a day off!", a more realistic income figure @ 65 an hour is roughly 60-62 K a year.

It was definately a good regional to fly for, I'd say better than my buds at Mesaba, Eagle, Colgan, Lakes, Co Ex, PSA, AWAC, and a few others, but these guys saying they made 100K at that outfit definately had A-LOOOOT less days off than they should have. I could make 220K where work now, but you definately DON'T see me doing that. Time spent away from the airplane is worth a lot more to me than time spent in it.

Year 4 as an RJ captain I blocked 700 hours with a credit of 1400. Total for the year $99,000. Per Diem spends like the rest of the money. $5200 of that was bonus. Not included is the extra $2000 made on the stock purchase plan. So far Year 5 YTD $53211 with $2100 so far in bonus so on pace for $110+. We have our problems but who doesn't you can make as much as you want and the work rules are not nearly as bad as they are at some of the majors.

The company never forces you to sit right seat as a captain. The time between finishing upgrade training and starting IOE seems to be around a month, sometimes more. As long as you're still legal (had a PC in the past year) the company allows you to pick up FO open time. All of that time you pick up goes on top of your monthly garauntee as a captain and is paid at 1.5x your captain rate. Pretty damn good deal considering it's practically a paid vacation and you can double your pay in four days.

And I highly doubt you made 50K 2nd year unless you are the skywest wonderboy that upgraded in 13 months!
By the way, good one on the mexican donkey! HE HAw!!!!!

Wasn't saying that there insn't much room for improvement but, since your flinging all the sh!t, what company are you hiding behind? Seriously?

I'd love to have a civil discussion about how we can have it as good as you...but we need to know what holy mecca regional/major/home improvement warehouse to look to.........
