Chautauqua is a cancer.
After looking at your profile it sounds like you're more pissed about the company you actually fly for than Chautauqua. How far down the J4J list are you for recall? Hopefully not too far.

I gotta tell y'all....Didn't they make you guys read Lord of the Flies back in grade school? Looks like regional airline pilots could easily kill themselves off if allowed to do so. You guys just can't let the old fraternity rivalries of college go can you? Ridiculous.

This is why I would never pick up and move my family to any crew base, unless I already lived there. While commuting sucks at least I don't have to worry about my base closing and have to move again. I live in Orlando and had the chance to fly and be based out of MCO with you know who, but I would rather commute up to EWR for an actually better QOL, even with commuting!

I heard comair will be opening SBN and possibly FWA as new basis. We're going to the be the gateway to the midwest.

First of all - I posted that this was going to happen a month ago on here.

Second, the "cancer" was Comair in GSO - when Comair made this a base, GSO Chautauqua lost all its Delta flying. Bases open, bases close. We move - it sucks. Airlines start, airlines fail. Its the industry.. Its fun.. Yet it has its pitfalls.

Your use of the word "cancer" is insulting - these companies and the American form of government - capitalism - do business via free market forces.

Is it troubling that Delta is choosing the lowest bidder at the cost of quality and possibly safety - YES. Does it impact our lives - YES. That is what we chose and its risks when we became airline pilots. I think some people in America expect that everything to be entitled to them, everything is fairly distributed, everything is equal.. That is communism, not capitalism.

Quit referring to these companies as a CANCER. Your company is probably a cancer to many other people too. These companies are not evil..maybe the action of some its CEOs and board members are.. The vast majority of these companies employees are good, hard-working Americans.

BEST WISHES to our Comair brethern! We all sympathize with your situation.

Since the moderator removed my other post...

Don't sit there and spew you BS about how CMR was the cancer and then in another breath try to show sympathy. Your just like Rosie O'Donnell. All mouth, no brains.

You all are all deceived if you don't think your AIRLINE company is not a "CANCER" to every other airline company - every other pilot, flight attendant, mechanic, dispatcher, and the thousands other employees that put in a hard-days work. I don't care who you are - SKYWEST, ASA, COMAIR, CHAUTAUQUA, MESA, PIEDMONT, COLGAN, or whoever.

All I'm saying is GROW UP, GET INFORMED, and quit your 2nd grade name- calling {ie cancer, plague, whatever) of healthy American competition in a capitalistic-country. If you can't stand the American system of free-market society, move to a COMMUNIST country. Or better yet leave the Airline industry!

What a bozo. Stick to your daytime job. Jerking gear.

OK OK OK, I'll quit saying your company is a cancer. What I should say is CHQ RP pilots are a cancer. In reality your company is awesome they find a way to be cheap and find pilots that will do anything for nothing, just to fly a plane. So for now on I will say CHQ pilots are a cancer. I stand corrected!

Wait, we (RP) get paid more than any other DCI carrier. Comair, Pinnacle, and Mesa just got all the new DL flying. Sounds like you guys are the whores.

Now, wait. ExpressJet has higher payrates than you guys, and when you factor in workrules you guys aren't the highest paid.

I'll bet you, even with the lower payrates, Comair guys still make similar to what a RP pilot makes. They have better workrules, and no BS 135 rate.

You may be right, but my point was that them calling us whores is like the pot calling the kettle black.

Or better yet leave the Airline industry!

Excellent advice! I've been Comair-free for over a year...

I worked 9 days last month; was home 30 nights and I'm appreciated by the company I work for. Best of all...I'm not worried about some unknown pilot swooping in and flying our people for a fraction of my salary. Good times...

Seriously though, best wishes to my former Comair colleagues. MCO and GSO were nice bases. It's a shame to see them go.
