any idea why they changed it? I was comin home this morning and each time two flights got handed off the controller called them shuttlecraft then after a big sigh, "Crossroads 1234, you know who you are, contact ....."

They came up with "Crossroads" because ATC felt that "ScumSuckingBottomFeedingHubRaider" was too cumbersome to say.

According to the first memo that came out, the controllers were confusing Shuttlecraft with Mesa's Air Shuttle, so they told us to change. I'd like to see the results of this vote they had, there were a lot of better choices than Crossroads.

This reminds me of when ASA had to switch from "Acey".

A poll was held and choices such as Peachtree, Pecan, DelCon, Kudzu, etc all came up. Then the System Chief Pilot (ND) came up with "Candler" supposedly after the original name of the ATL airport and it stuck.

Stupidest callsign I've ever had to say. We got called Chandler, Chandelier, and Carnival constantly.

Glad we're back to "Acey" though the "ASE" ATC tag that gave us the name "Acey" didn't survive. Still not sure why we ended up with ASQ or whatever instead.
