Hearing around town today that Robert Martens and his investers plan on buying PDT and PSA. I guess PDT has to buy 60 Q400s and Q300 before the deal goes through. Both companies will be run as contract carriers.

This is just what I heard today from different people, at different times, and different places. Also there is some ALPA update about it hanging next to a computer in LGA. I haven't seen it, that's just what I was told.

Jesus, we're a bunch of freaking morons.

That's a disingenuous hacking of mildly interesting facts:
  • Martens' investor group attempted a buyout of PDT from mainline (called Group back then... lo those couple of years ago) ...
  • and was denied.
Why in the he!! would he wait for what looks like over a billion dollar increase in liability?

Why does he agree that "operational control" and "contract carrier" are diametric opposites?

Why do I still get surprised at how phenomenally dumb some of our loudmouths are? We need some clever folks in charge here, and soon.

Conflict of interest much? Jeez...

**Went downstairs for a smoke and I realized this might be taken as an attack on you, M. I'm peeved at the gibbering fools who get a kick out of stirring this crap up by taking bits of fact and spinning them into a frothy Twilight Zone of boolsheet- sorry if this was misinterpreted.

Diamond Award? More like a ruby in a goat's arse.

Things change drastically over five years, huh? I just hope the good mechs we do have stick around. They're literally the only thing keeping us running- do you know how bad SBY is for parts?

I flew a 300 today for 4 legs. Nothing odd, just a 190 knot speed restriction.

Why, you ask?

Uh, the right aft nosegear door WAS GONE. IT WASN'T THERE. IT WAS FREAKING GONE.

Nice!!! And I hope you made just alittle extra cash with that? Too bad we still don't go to THL, GNV, CVG,DAY,MGM,CSG,SDF,.........
Damn!! There's a bunch of airports we don't go to now!!!! Grrrr!

Well, hope u made atleast an hour with that bird!!!

hey, I had that plane too. Whistling like a mofo! The best part was that the MEL for that doesn't expire for a YEAR! Any bets on when it actually gets fixed?!

That's probably a CDL item and the year expiration date is just to satisfy the dispatch computer for the release. It won't be fixed until it has to go back to the lessor.

I just meant it can stay like that forever, until they return it. I think the lessor wants all the parts attached when it comes back.

And if they don't put one back on? What will the lease company do? Send Dog to SBY to Repo the dispatch trailer? The leasers should feel lucky if the planes aren't on blocks.

And Grey Ghost... do/did you even work for PDT?

double post...sorry

Dispatch is in the wood paneling now. They moved out of the trailer.

Is scheduling still in there? Did they replace DX with another "department"?

We got a few 700's missing main wheel doors as well. speed restricted to .78 . One has both missing and the other only has one side missing.

I felt like an idiot the first time I preflighted it and the captain asked if I noticed anything missing?
