Just a question when all these companies come out of bankrupcy how in the hell are they affording all these new paint jobs?
It always amazes me that people still think "new paint" costs something. They go in for heavy checks and they get repainted anyway. Sheese...and pilots are the "smart" ones.

Of course they held strong on the 100 seaters... at pay rates less than regional 70 seat rates.
And that's helping whom, exactly?

"Yeah, we stuck it to those regional bastards...we kept the 100 seat flying where it belongs!"

"What the rate?"

"Damn near Skywest's rate...but we kept the 100 seat scope by golly!"

Did you know how much money I just got (after taxes)? I got over $80,000 after taxes... How did you do?

Bye Bye--General Lee

Typical arrogant response. You know from the past I've supported the DAL pilots all along, and still do. But I'm disappointed in what DALPA let happened to scope. It's opened the door for a DCI nightmare. When DAL was on the ropes you were all about supporting other pilots and stapling lists, etc. Now it's "we're doing better and you're not ..." You've shown your true colors with the emergence.

I don't know what side you're coming from but I'm glad DAL kept the 100-seaters. I'd rather start there and work up than work up to it and be at the top of my career. I've said all along that ML growth means opportunity for everyone.

At these rates, it isn't "opportunity for everyone". Maybe for you, but not for a senior ASA/CMR/XJT pilot. It takes too long to get back to even, not to mention the money lost getting back to even and the lost opportunity for that money to compound over time. Throw in lost vacation and schedule, and it isn't that simple for all of us.....

And maybe someday you will quit falling for the mainline propaganda.... I haven't been disappointed by DALPA because that is what I expect from them.... someday you learn to quit blindly supporting them....

We haven't caved on scope every time it's come up. Even as an RJ pilot I am dissapointed at how DALPA has given in on scope. Of course they held strong on the 100 seaters... at pay rates less than regional 70 seat rates. As far as raising the bar, it won't be known until we take a vote. But rest assured I won't compromise on my vote.

Do really expect us to get much when DALPA has agreed to lower 100 rates than our current 70 seat rates? Put down the Herndon crack pipe..... Your "brothers" at the mainline have compromised....

You would not get hired anyhow...so nothing to worry about there Azzmunch!

I'm not blindly following anyone. They asked me what I want, I told them, and that's what they've been negotiating for. If they bring me a TA with something different I'll vote no. If I'm in the majority we'll get what I want, if I'm not I'm man enough to live with it. I won't do like you and try to start a company-wide whining party because things didn't go my way.

The majority of pilots want to move on. That's what a regional is for. It's unfortunate that you are not in the majority and you have to deal with that. If I do end up being here for a career I'll make the best of it, just like I'm making the best of it now, but until then I want opportunities to move up.
