Anyone have a heads up on hotels that are clean, safe, have usual rest/bar combo relatively close to JFK with good service?

I know it may be alot to ask for. lol
Any help would be good as I am going to start being based at JFK.

try Scumrise Executive AKA sunrise executive

If you decide to do a crashpad instead, Kew Gardens is the place everyone goes. It's right inbetween JFK and LaGuardia. I paid 200 bucks a month when I was there 7 years ago, but there were 12 of us in a 2 bedroom 2 bath apartment.

Hampton Inn - $140
5 Towns - $92
Holiday Inn - $140
Hilton Garden Inn - $75 + tax

These are rates I have paid during the last year. The Hilton GI is where our crews stay on layovers, so I think they give us a decent discount.

For all of the above, except the 5T, the pickup is at Federal Circle (via the Airtrain). The 5 Towns will pick you up at the terminal (make sure they are VERY specific as to where they will pick you up as they don't necessarily pick you up at baggage claim). The 5 Towns van runs every 30 minutes at the top and bottom of the hour. Make sure you schedule your return from the hotel with the front desk.

Good luck and I am so sorry you are commuting to JFK.
