I was at FTI's open house yesterday in Vegas......

I would like to say thank you to Greg at Flight Training International for hosting this open house to meet with the SWA recruiters and for offering a very competitive price on type ratings.

Last but definitely not least!

A very big thank you to:

Rebekah, Megan , Jeff , and Miss Patel for taking the time to travel there for us and answering all or questions. You guys were great and it was a nice presentation on SWA!

Capt. Z

PS: Selfishly hoping the second time around for me goes better!
(can you blame me for wanting that???)

I interviewed in March with SWA. I was not offered the job. I was wondering if anyone knows what the procedure is to reapply. I know you have to wait a year to reinterview but does it help to keep updating my application now or should I just wait until next year? Also, does anyone know what the % hiring rate is on the second try.

Glad you enjoyed it.

Dude you were not wearing your Anorexia tee shirt!
I did not get a chance to say hi in person.......

Good show though, much thanks again to you SWA people.

Any idea who won the $1000 off coupon for the FTI type rating?
Just curious, I had to bale early (just after speaking to Ms. Krone) to catch a ride back to the East coast.....

I heard it was around 70% second time around, but I honestly can't remember where that number came from.... (prob. a student pilot posing as a SWA Capt here on FI :-).

I asked the same question at the open house and was not given an exact number on second attempts, just that "many" do because they are more comfortable (relaxed) with the interview process. I think you have to wait out the time before you resubmit online (at least that's what I did) but I'd verify that with an email to SWA themselves.

Sorry that it didn't work for you the first time around...been there done that as the saying goes......

It's a long wait but I'm sure it's worth it,
Capt. Z

By any chance did they mention anything about future open houses. Perhaps on the east side of the nation. Thanks

Rebekah said that you can update as often as you wish, but you will not be looked at until 1 year after your interview. She also said that re-interviewees are being called at about the 18 month mark. Hope that helps.

I was there also and it was extrmemly informative. The woman who worked for Skyways that was in her unifrom won the 1000$ off. Anyone have info about the next one coming up?

I was not there for the AM shift. I was there for the PM presentation however. Had to bail though for a flight after talking to some of the great guys that attended.

Good for her!

Thanks for the info...

Lets hope FTI has some more SWA Open houses!

I'll call Greg on Monday and see if there are any more plans of such....

I'll post his response here then.

Everyone have a good weekend,

Capt. Z

(even if you are out working like me)

I went to Dallas in March as well and got turned down. But I will be back next year, and any info would be nice to look at.
