Yea go to Express Jet so when they close the doors you get furloughed and skywest is a much better commute skyWEST should tell you enough. Oh wait you can try chicago....good luck with that. Welcome to probably the best regional at this time. In a week who knows. its a crap shoot!

Yeah. Republic is the best regional. What are you smoking? My paycheck is nearly always wrong. I have not bid on time in six months because the company wipes its ass with our contract. The last upgrade bid went out of seniority. Now we get to vote on reducing our days off by one day per month without getting anything from the company in return. Everyone only gets twelve days off per month right now as is. You can fly a 70-seat jet for $23/hour though. Oh by the way, we're a major airline. We did more than a billion dollars in revenue last year. I am dreaming though to think we will get paid decent wages. I am supposed to be happy getting paid peanuts because we are the best regional. God bless.

That about sums it up. Armageddon is on the horizon, I fear.

Odd this is going on when our contract is up. Fasten your seat belts, 2007 is going to be an interesting year. Hope our elected union reps kick some butt

oh look, the union busting attorney has his first success story. be patient, i know that is tough in our instant gratification society but stick with it, grow a spine, and do what is right.

I am not against the union. That is the only thing we have going for us. I am against the company. They are making things as hard as possible on us and the union. I take this stuff personally and cannot go to work with a happy attitude when the company fvcks me every chance it gets. I fly for money, not for the love of it.

I feel you, I used to take it very personally. I was miserable, but many people feel this way about their jobs. That is why you(and everybody really) need to disconnect yourself from it, know that it isn't personal. If it were personal they'd know your name, you are just a number. I used to be 90% pilot and 10% The Drizzle. I made it the other way around, I've never been happier. Also, if you just flew for the money, then you'd have an appreciation for what the company is trying to do, make money. Just like every other publicly traded company. Fly your trips, support the union, get a life(seriously, this isn't a dig, i would say this to anybody who took troubles at work so personally), and be happy. Before you know it, you'll be rotting in the ground being feasted upon by maggots and weevils.

And just for the record it took a royal screwing by RAH for me to let go. It isn't that I don't protect what is mine or important to me professionally, I just can't let it get to me. I don't have to choose to be miserable. Don't let this Henson guy make you miserable. Life your life, make it a good one.

It's hard to have a life outside flying when I only get 11 to 12 days off a month which might drop to 10 to 11.

Excuses. This is your choice my man. I did 2 years on reserve here at CHQ, and do you really think that LOA is going to pass? Even if the company tries to force it, it is a Major Dispute. We'll have the place shut down in no time.

Anyway, have a good night dude. Live your life on your terms, not theirs.

As many as you want. If you want to fly the min, set min sked on pbs, and dont pick up overtime. Min sked might be 84 hours (sucks its that high). It used to be anywhere from 78-82. Or if you want to make as much money as you can and don't care about days off, you could pick up open time and credit 100+ hours.

According to the LOA, giving up a day off is voluntary in exchange for 6 hours over guarantee. If you don't want to go below 12 days off a month, you don't have to.

Hey, Yudzo-

You are apparently the only one who has actually seen the LOA since it hasn't been written yet, much less mailed.

Facts: The company has offered unilaterally for the month of May to allow voluntary reduction of min days off at 6 hours above guarantee.

A LOA, which is not yet written, will go out for a ratification vote. It will contain a provision for reduction of min days off, again for 6 hours pay above guarantee, but it is not yet known whether that will be voluntary or compulsory.

If you got the misinformation you posted from the "republicpilots" board, you need to read the information from the EXCO more carefully. If you heard it from someone who heard it from someone, you need to follow Palonius' advice to his son: Hamlet I, iii, 55-81

...Give every man thy ear, but few thy voice...

the 170 is not a regional plane you are right...it's going to keep you at the regionals forever though. Glad you enjoy flying it sooo much.

Hello, that whole E-Jet family is designated as RJ's. They are the ERJ 170/75/90/95. They are all designated regional jets.

That may be true but I think that everyone's point is that the plane should be flown by mainline pilots because of their capability and utilization by the regionals. Regional airlines are not flying exclusively regional routes anymore.
